Trick-or-Treat Tips For Single Mom's
Andrea Brown

Halloween can be at tricky holiday to plan for as a single parent. Safety and fun are the two main ingredients for a succesful night full of candy and fun. Check out the following tips to help make yours and your childrens' 2016 Halloween the best one yet!

1.) Light up stuff you will both love-

Light up buckets and glasses are more than just fun accessories. They also allow you to spot your child from a distance and makes it easier distinguish them from others. Buy your child a few of these neat accessories to carry or wear on Halloween night.

Some of my favorite places to shop for light up accessories are:

Hobby Lobby, Target, Dollar Tree, and Walmart

2.) Throw your own Halloween Party-

You already know that you are the mom of the year, but go ahead and show off your trophy this Halloween! If your mailbox is lacking festive Halloween invitations, throw your own party and invite all your children's friends and parents. This will allow you and other parents to bond over chocolate with peace of mind as your children roam the house or yard in a safe environment, surrounded by people they know.

Look forward to next weeks article full of tips on how to throw the coolest Halloween Bash on a budget!

3.) Organize a Group to go Trick-or-Treating with-

Take advantage of the one holiday that forces you out of the house. Call up your other single parent friends and go door to door as a group, or use this as an excuse to ask the single dad down the road if he would like to join. (My father and Step-mother meet as singles on Halloween night and have been together ever sense.)

You could also ask some of your close friends who love hanging around the kids, or other memembers of your family!

4.) Find Safe Trick-or-Treating Events that are being hosted in your area!

From trunk-or-treats to pumpkin patches, many towns are full of safe places to take your children on Halloween night! Check and see if any hospitals, churches, or buisnesses near you are hosting any safe and fun Halloween events!

ATTENTION: Anderson, SC and nearby areas:

Kid'z Kut'z and Golden Shear'z of Anderson is hosting a Halloween event. Many businesses from around the Anderson area will be setting up booths and passing out candy to the children. The salon is located on 1503 North Main Street Anderson, SC, United States 29621

If you or your Buisness are interested in setting up a booth it is only $5.00 to set up a table. Advertisements are allowedl. Decorating is up to you but we do ask that the candy you pass out be individually wrapped. If you have any other questions feel free to contact the salon at (864) 437-8785

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
