Thank You for Making College Even More Fun

Tribute to the Friend That Never Says "No" to Anything

This one is a shout out to the special friend we all have who will never say “no” to you, even if it is the most outrageous (or boring) request. We all have that one person who never asks any questions and will always have your back when it comes to all of your nutty ideas.

We do not always realize how important this person is in our life, but they are the one who keeps us alive. Not the fake type of alive, where you are pretend to be living as you drag your limp body through classes and all your other mandatory commitments, but the alive you feel on Thursday nights while sprinting back to your apartment in heels after a night out with your best friend. The type of alive where you laugh until your sides sting. So here is the "thank you" and appreciation to that friend.

Thank you for being up for TP-ing boys' houses who have done me wrong, purely because you also thought it was hilarious. Thank you for movie nights usually consisting of cartoons or Disney movies I did not even want to watch in the first place. You always convince me to watch them and they are always a good idea. Thank you for being willing to drive me places, even if it is just to the grocery store to get a month’s worth of groceries (mostly ramen and blue Powerade). Thank you not only for supporting, but encouraging, my odd graphic tee addiction I cannot seem to overcome - no matter how dumb the phrases on them are. Thank you for including me when you have a girl's night in at your best friend's apartment in your hometown. Thank you for watching (and re-watching) The Office over and over again. Thank you for always being enthusiastic about dousing your entire body in glitter so I am not the only one reflecting all of the light in the room. Thank you for always going to all of our sorority events with me when no one else wants to go. Most of all, thank you for never doing any of these things out of FOMO like everyone else. You do everything for me purely because you care just as much as I do.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
