Throughout my whole life I have always wanted to travel the world. My parents have always told me to follow my dreams and do what makes me happy. They have given me many amazing opportunities to travel and experience a new piece of the world. Each place that I have traveled to has taught me something new. I have learned new things about myself, others, and about different places. Usually when I hear people say they want to travel the world, I hear them say they want to see different landmarks or they want to go stay at some beach resort. Yes, I would love to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris or Big Ben in London, but I want to do so much more than that. I want to discover the cute little coffee shops in Paris, I want to ride a canal all through Venice, take a moped around the country side of Italy, I want to discover what makes each country or city its own.

I was recently sitting in Times Square in New York City just watching people come and go. Times Square has a staircase where you can sit and be able to see all of Times Square. I sat at that staircase for quite some time. Thousands to people coming and going. I began to notice that people would just come take a picture and then leave. They would do tons of different poses and then when they got one they liked, they just left. These people didn't even look around, they didn't even notice where they were. It's like they never really fully visited Times Square. So many people go to Times Square each year, but that's the problem, people just go to Times Square, they don't realize where they are at and they don't take it in.

When I think of myself traveling around the world, I don't think of some tour guide telling me where to go. I think of myself wandering around a new city discovering the unique places. I think of listening to people tell stories about what it was like to grow up in those places. I think of learning about a new culture and what makes that culture so special. I think of wanting to get lost in some streets while discovering new things. I think of waking up early to catch the sunrise in different cities. I think about how I will discover a new piece of myself with everywhere I go.

Traveling has always been a passion of mine and I intend to pursue that passion. They are so many places I want to go and there are so many interesting people that I know I will meet along the way. Traveling can open your eyes to so many new things. As humans, we get so comfortable in our everyday lives that I think we forget that there is a whole world out there. A whole world that was created for us. I want to explore this great big world. I want to explore, discover, and have adventure around the world. I want to leave a little piece of my heart in each city, because I know I will be taking a little bit of each city with me.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
