12 Reasons Why Not To Visit Wisconsin

Wisconsin has nothing to offer, right?

The Midwest is so boring; there's nothing to do or see. And Wisconsin? No, thanks. Cows and fields? I'll pass. Take a look and see if you want to travel to Wisconsin once you're through reading.

1. First of all, it's not like Lake Michigan is fun or pretty or anything.

Maybe it is. Bradford Beach in Milwaukee (pictured above) is one of the summer's most popular spots in the Milwaukee area. It has a tiki bar, and it also hosts professional beach volleyball tournaments.

2. When you go up north, there's not much to see.

Maybe there is. Wisconsin actually has more lakes than its neighbor, "The Land of 10,000 Lakes." Wisconsin has about 15,047 lakes, while Minnesota only has 11,842.

3. There are basically no activities to do at the lake, either.

You might have to be creative, but there are many things to do while at the lake. Boating, skiing, fishing, oh my!

4. Door County? Eh.

Door County looks beautiful in any season and is a great place to relax. It is very peaceful and quiet in the winter and has a little more hustle and bustle in the summer, but nonetheless, people of any age can find happiness up there.

5. Why is Milwaukee called Brew City, anyway? The beer isn't much to mention.

Also called the Beer Capital by some, Milwaukee is home to famous brands such as Miller, Pabst, Schlitz, and Blatz. Leinenkugel's comes from Chippewa Falls, Wis., and is also brewed in Milwaukee.

6. And Summerfest, the World's Largest Music Festival? What's so great about 11 days of music on 11 stages, bringing in over 700 music acts along the shore of Lake Michigan?

You tell me. Since it originated in 1968, Summerfest continues to draw crowds of approximately 900,000 every year, and brings in acts of all sizes and genres. Some notable acts that have come include Luke Bryan, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, Kip Moore, Timeflies and more.

7. And for the country music fans, too bad there's no such thing as Country USA, Country Jam or Country Thunder.

Or is there? Country music and camping, what more could you ask for? These festivals bring in big names as well, including Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line and more.

8. A creme puff from the Wisconsin State Fair isn't anything too special.

The Wisconsin State Fair has some of the best (and craziest) food you've ever had. On a stick. Have you ever had deep-fried maple bacon cookie dough?

9. How about Central Wisconsin? It's hard to find something fun to do there in the summer. There's barely any water.

Except that there are six large water parks and many smaller parks and attractions. There's a reason why it's called the "Water Park Capital of the World."

10. It's hard to appreciate art in such a boring place.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is beautiful, and its setting can't be beat, right on the shore of Lake Michigan. It has many different exhibits and is a great place for taking photographs, as well.

11. If you don't want to cheer on one of the best teams in football while experiencing a new form of tailgating, then don't come to Wisconsin. We take our Packers pre-game festivities very seriously here.

Half of the fun of going to a Packers game is the tailgating before the game. Even in sub-zero temperatures, Packer Backers will be outside grilling.

12. Don't forget about baseball. You can tailgate all year round in Wisconsin, so if that isn't for you, don't visit.

Going to a Brewers baseball game is another great time to tailgate. Enjoy a brat and a beer while cheering on the Brew Crew.

By the looks of it, Wisconsin isn't so bad now, is it? It is clear that Wisconsinites are passionate about their teams and their beer. When it's time to relax, there are so many places to go right in the state, and there are plenty of places to go for fun, as well. As for culture, the art museum is a piece of art itself, and there is truly nothing like Summerfest. Come and visit. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
