People are not meant to live in one place throughout their life. That’s why if we have the money, the first thing we need to do is to travel. Statistics say that it’s completely worth spending money traveling around the world instead of spending money buying clothes, that’s for sure!

Every time you leave your house, your journey starts. You have many adventures, you see many places and you experience new things. When you come back home, you’re no longer the same person that left the house, you’re completely changed. Every trip you undertake changes you, and whether in a positive or negative way, it is guaranteed that you will see the world in a different perspective.

Climbing a mountain, walking on the beach, admiring a sunset, watching the view from the Empire State Building, going to an art museum, hearing the noises of the animals in a forest, the music of the waves crashing on the sand, or just appreciating the beauty of nature. These are all of the things you can admire if only you travel. And trust me, it's incredible.

The only time we have to reflect, to think about ourselves, or about the world around us is when we travel. Not only do we see new places, but we meet new people, we learn new languages, we eat new food, we know different traditions from different countries and the way people live their lives.

When you come back home, you will be able to tell your family and friends all the knowledge you've gained from those fantastic days spent traveling and dreaming while viewing different landscapes. Though you will have a plethora of photos and videos from your trip, the only thing that will remain permanent are the memories shared.

Trips can encourage you to learn new things, things you can't learn from a book or a magazine. While traveling you can visit the house of a President, or a museum, and months after when you see that place on TV there’s nothing better than saying: “I’ve been there, I know that place!”

Traveling can also help you break your routine, your traditional rut. We usually don’t live in the present, we are always so busy that we don’t value what's around us. Only when we’re away from home do we appreciate or admire a sunset or a landscape. You should appreciate the beauty of the world, every single sight. Every single trip will remain a memory. Everyone has a special trip to remember. Cherish that.

The people that you encounter during you trip will for sure teach you something valuable. You will remember them and they will remember you, they can become your friends despite the distance. You will come back home with a new outlook on heritage, culture, and life. And remember:

“Travel while you’re young and able. Don’t worry about the money, just make it work. Experience is far more valuable than money will ever be.”

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
