Two weeks from now I'll be moving across the country and I'll leave behind friends, family, memories, and more. Through high school, I went through the traumatic endings of many toxic friendships and never thought one would last.
Then I met YOU.
I remember it like it was yesterday.
Sitting with my then best friend in Chemistry sophomore year we introduced ourselves to you as we normally mingled and you were happy to converse. We learned it was soon your birthday in the frigid winter we were enduring and decided to throw you a birthday party.
We all became close sitting in the dirty Mexican restaurant my former best friend had picked out, with some of your dearest friends.
Never would I have thought three years later you hate that girl and we became so close, but I am sure glad it did.
You accepted me from the start and I, you.
Both in braces, thinking we had style and good hair days when we'd be soon told that was all wrong.
But you always had my back.
Through the harsh friendships trying to break us apart, and the dirty lies told to influence our thoughts of each other, we stuck together.
