Toss those Earbuds

As a tech enthusiast and an I.T. technician, I try to keep up in all facets of the tech industry.

V.R. in gaming is a huge topic now with the upcoming PlayStation V.R. headset set to be released soon. Apple has also announced their new upcoming line of iPhones. It is a busy season for the tech industry.

One facet of tech that I have also been distant on is audio. Up until recently, I have always bought the cheapest speaker systems, and I have always used the included earbuds that come with any device I buy.

That all changed when I first listened to music on my buddy’s Pioneer over-ear headphones.

We were getting ready to go on a weekend road trip when I realized that I forgot my Apple earbuds, that I have had for years. Naturally, I asked my buddy, who is a DJ, if he had an extra pair of earbuds that I could borrow, so he pulled out his Pioneer HDJ-500R over ear DJ headphones.

When I listened to Bohemian Rhapsody on those headphones, I realized that good audio is an amazing experience. I could hear every lyric and instrument on those things.

After that road trip, I went on the internet, and I read up on everything audio related. I learned that with the right pair of earbuds or headphones, my music experience would be a lot better than what my old Apple earbuds can offer.

I tossed my old Apple Earbuds, and I purchased a pair of Sony MDR-XB50 earbuds, they are stunning.

The instant I put the earbuds on, I could tell the difference in my audio.

I first listened to some heavy bass Hip-Hop. Not only could I hear the bass in the music, but I felt it. I felt a little too much that I had to turn down the volume on my phone.

I never thought I could hear such amazing audio from a pair of earbuds.

However, like all electronic devices, these earbuds aren’t perfect either.

These earbuds are marketed to those consumers that are looking for heavy bass in their music. Genres like Hip-Hop and EDM offer the crazy bass notes that are perfectly suited for these earbuds.

When you step away from those genres, that is when you hear the faults that these earbuds have.

I personally like to listen to soft classical music when I am writing an article. These earbuds aren’t really good for that genre of music.

You can really hear the imperfections when you listen to music with strong vocals. I listened to some Taylor Swift tracks, and she sounds a little muffled with these earbuds.

It really isn’t that bad, but that is unacceptable to an audiophile. My DJ buddy has around 30 different headphones and earbuds, and he knows which ones to use which each specific genre.

But if you are a casual music listener, any pair of earbuds, including the Sony MDR-XB50 earbuds, is a lot better than the ones that come with your iPhone or any other device that offers earbuds.

These earbuds are around $50, but you can get a great set of cans for cheaper too.

The Sony MDRZX110s are about $17 on Amazon. I have an older pair of those over ear headphones, and they sound great for the price.

The Panasonic RP-HJE120-K earbuds are $10 on Amazon, and I have read many great reviews on it.

The Apple earbuds are about $30 anywhere. After listening to music on those for many years, you would be better off getting those Panasonic earbuds.

Those Apple earbuds are overpriced, and they are cheaply built. I have also read many bad reviews on them too.

Apple just falls short with these earbuds.

If you appreciate music and listen to it on those Apple Earbuds or any other generic pair of earbuds or headphones. Do yourself a favor, and toss them in the trash, or give it to your kid sister or brother.

Whatever you do, just get yourself a decent pair of over ear headphones or earbuds.

I get inspired by listening to great music. Why should you let a pair of crummy earbuds hinder your moments of inspiration and creativity?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time.
