Topics College Kids Talk About With Their Hometown Friends Over Break

College kids across the country are returning to the comfort of their parents' homes. In between being force-fed from our moms and taking hundreds of pictures with the family dog, time is being made for the people who arguably know us best: our high school friends. They were there for us for prom, late night AP class study sessions, and, most importantly, graduation. And now that finals are over, we're reunited with them! Whether it is your first year of college or your last (cries for seniors), those four short months of fall semester were definitely packed with memories and stories, both good and bad. Here are the topics college kids bring up with their hometown friends.

1. The parties.

Especially if you are a freshman, those parties are going to take up a lot of the conversation. Whether it be the unfortunately unforgettable rush parties you attended, or your best college friend's 21st birthday bash, tons of stories that would make your dad cry will be shared. And don't forget the pictures.

2. Your living situation.

Whether you're going to complain about your dorm's atrocious food or your apartment's maintenance problems, your college home away from home will be a topic of conversation.

3. Your love life.

Get prepared boys, because your Facebook profiles are about to get stalked by women who have known your girl for years, and they will not hold back on their opinions of you. Every romantic triumph and failure will be talked about at some local hometown Starbucks or Panera.

4. Your college friends.

Of course, you love your college friends, and given how much they have heard about your high school friends, it is only fair to return the favor and make your friends jealous that they themselves have never met these fantastic people!

5. Your classes.

Probably not the most exciting of the topics previously mentioned, but your friends want you to succeed and get a good job once you graduate, so how your GPA was affected this semester might come up.

6. When everyone is going to visit each other's schools.

Since you've heard all these awesome stories from your friend, you obviously want to check out the place for yourself! And since your school is obviously the best, why shouldn't you show your friends around?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
