Disney movies, the best kind of movies ever! They are the go-to genre of movie for movie nights with friends, to make you smile, and just needing something great to watch! Everyone has their favorite Disney movie (or movies since it is hard to choose just one!) and after doing some research, I have come up with a list of the top ten Disney movies!

1. "The Lion King" (1994)

Number one on the list is none other than The Lion King. Making its debut in 1994, it is, to date, the most popular Disney movie. The success of the movie brought about the Broadway musical along with some sequels and TV series (although none are as comparable to the original).

2. "Moana" (2016)

The movie that should have won the award that went to Zootopia, Moana. This movie comes in second because it's amazing and is a great piece of work, but does not quite top The Lion King. The idea behind the use of culture both with character design and music composition is similar to that of The Lion King. The directors and producers made it know that they did their research on the Polynesian cultures for this movie.

3. "Zootopia" (2016)

Not as awesome as The Lion King, Zootopia, the movie about an underdog, or under-bunny, who has big dreams and does whatever it takes to achieve them. Zootopia is a great movie, teaching the importance of friendship regardless of species, or race or background. "Try Everything" also helps with the greatness of this movie.

4. "Mulan" (1998)

Many people label Mulan as another Disney princess movie, though she's much better than a princess. She's the savior of China!

5. "Frozen" (2013)

A movie about the love between sisters rather than a boy and a girl. Frozen is labeled as the "first Disney movie" to teach girls that they don't need a man to save them, that doesn't have the protagonist getting married at the end of the movie, etc. If anyone truly knew Disney movies, especially princess movies, there has been movies prior to Frozen that showed those qualities. The movie, also, has had a huge hype since it's release though it's a bit overdone and overrated, hence why it makes number 5 on the list.

6. "Beauty and the Beast" (1991)

Tale as old as time, probably one of the best pre-2000 Disney Princess movies ever. Since it's release, many people believe that the movie is about Stockholm's Syndrome, though if one truly watches the movie, they'll realize it really isn't. With that said, this movie doesn't go higher on the list due to the fact the singing voice of Belle is not very good.

7. "Aladdin" (1992)

Another movie that is a bit overrated, although the story line is pretty good. The movie also has 3 sequels and had a TV series, which was amazing in comparison to other TV series to come after the Disney movie. The adventures were fun and enjoyable to watch. The sequels, on the other hand, ended up with designers who seemed not to care about putting in the much-needed details.

8. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1938)

Known as the start of the Disney Princess line-up, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered in February of 1938. Due to the time and age of the movie, the quality is not the greatest. The sets used to some scenes are recycled and used in later movies as well. The movie is still pretty decent regardless.

9. "The Parent Trap" (1961)

This movie is what essentially made twins believe it was alright to pull a "switcher-o" on their parents, especially if they were identical. This movie is number nine on the list because many people, especially of younger generations, are mostly familiar with the remake with a young, pre-rehab Lindsay Lohan.

10. "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" (1989)

This "oldie" Disney movie tells the story of an inventor who accidentally shrinks his children down to a microscopic size. The bugs were bigger than they were! This places number ten in my list due to the fact that, though it was popular when it was first released, is not very well known by the generations following it's release. Still, it's rather funny to watch!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
