When I think of all of the amazing things that 2015 brought my way, I can't help but think of the amazing songs of the year. I've always been a music junkie. So without further ado, here are my top picks for 2015.
15. "Hello" - Adele
</p>
What's not to like about Adele's comeback song?
Favorite Line: "At least I can say that I've tried to tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart, but it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore."
14. "Polar Paradise" - Landon Austin
</p>
Landon Austin has long been a favorite artist of mine. I even saw him live in Salt Lake City in 2013. While I happen to like a lot of his music, "Polar Paradise" has a retro pop sound to it, which is new for Austin. And let me be the one to say, it works.
Favorite Line: "We don't need the sin, we got endless nights."
13. "Lean On" - Major Lazer & DJ Snake ft. M0
</p>
Favorite Line: "All we need is somebody to lean on."
12. "Wildest Dreams" - Taylor Swift
</p>
I think this is Taylor Swift's best song from 1989, but maybe it's because it's softer pop, which is closer to her country roots.
Favorite Line: "He's so tall and handsome as hell. He's so bad but he does it so well."
11. "Ex's & Oh's" - Elle King
</p>
This song has a vibe that makes me think of the swing of the 1920s, but in a completely modern and 21st-century kind of way. It's really something special.
Favorite Line: "'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep."
10. "Sorry" - Justin Beiber
</p>
I didn't really like Justin Beiber until his "Purpose," but now I'm a total Belieber.
Favorite Line: "I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice. And by once or twice I mean maybe a couple of hundred times."
9. "Locked Away" - R. City ft. Adam Levine
</p>
Favorite Line: "Now tell me would you really ride for me? Baby tell me would you die for me? Would you spend your whole life with me?"
8. "Burning House" - Cam
</p>
I love the guitar rhythm for this song. It's so simple, which makes it catchy.
Favorite Line: "Love isn't all that it seems I did you wrong."
7. "See You Again" - Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
</p>
What's not to like about a song dedicated to Paul Walker?
Favorite Line: "Everything I went through you were standing there by my side. And now you gonna be with me for the last ride."
6. "Stitches" - Shawn Mendes
</p>
This song is my favorite breakup song of all time. It is super catchy.
Favorite Line: "I thought that I'd been hurt before, but no one's ever left me quite this sore."
5. "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" - Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend
</p>
Meghan Trainor and John Legend sing such an amazing duet. I think I'd instantly fall for anyone who sang this song to me.
Favorite Line: "Like a scene from a movie that every broken heart knows."
4. "Confident" - Demi Lovato
</p>
Demi Lovato took on a whole new sound, and with this song, she most definitely exuded confidence.
Favorite Line: "I make my own choice. Yeah I run this show."
3. "Same Old Love" - Selena Gomez
</p>
Selena Gomez has grown up, and I can't help but like her new music. She is Bae.
Favorite Line: "You left in peace, left me in pieces."
2. "Irresistible" - Fall Out Boy ft. Demi Lovato
</p>
I'm not going to lie, this and all of Fall Out Boy's recent music is irresistible.
Favorite Line: "You're secondhand smoke, secondhand smoke. I breathe you in, but, honey, I don't know what you're doing to me, Mon chéri, but the truth catches up with us eventually."
1. "Love Yourself" - Justin Beiber
</p><span id="selection-marker-1" class="redactor-selection-marker" data-verified="redactor"></span>
This song, allegedly about Jayde Pierce, is the perfect way to tell an ex that it wasn't you, it was them, all them.
Favorite Line: "My mama don't like you and she like's everyone."
And four more Honorable Mention songs:
"Hotline Bling" - Drake
"Trap Queen" - Fetty Wap
