Fall is one of my favorite seasons and one of the main reasons why is Halloween. Whether you're going all out and dressing up or just spending the night in, here are some great Halloween movies to check out if you're a total weenie like me...
1.) The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
This is the OG Halloween movie. It's a timeless classic that features creepy claymation creations and haunting music from Danny Elfman. "This is Halloween" is essentially the anthem of Halloween.
2.) Hocus Pocus (1993)
If you're not watching this, you're doing it wrong. This is such a throwback to my childhood.
3.) Shaun of the Dead (2004)
This is a hilarious take on zombies that will make you laugh instead of scream.
4.) The Corpse Bride (2005)
It wouldn't be a Halloween movie without Tim Burton. Though not as popular as The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride is just as spooky and has another awesome score/music by Danny Elfman.
5.) Young Frankenstein (1974)
It'll be our first Halloween without Gene Wilder, so why not pay homage to him with a classic. Wilder lives on through this comedic take on Frankenstein.
6.) Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Need I say more?
7.) Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Young Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder star in this dark film about a young man who is cursed with scissors for hands. And you thought you had it bad.
8.) Beetlejuice (1988)
AKA the origin of Robin Thicke's terrifying suit from the 2013 VMAs.
9.) The Addams Family
Whether you're watching the original or the remake, you'll find yourself unable to stop snapping along to the theme song.
Bonus Spooky TV Shows:
1.) Stranger Things (2016)
Did you really think this list wouldn't have Stranger Things on it?
2.) The Twilight Zone (1959)
This is a definite oldie, but still relevant today. Some of the more psychological episodes might just creep you out... a little.
