Once it was announced that "Finding Dory" would hit theaters June 17, 2016, the whole world went crazy. Trailers were everywhere, whether it was on YouTube or Facebook. While the little ones might have been excited, those who grew up to love "Finding Nemo" were even more thrilled. Some people even went as far as saying that they would like no little kids to be in the theaters because the older ones have been waiting forever to see the film.

I was amongst many who were ecstatic, and once I saw the movie, so many amazing memories of the shows that I watched as a kid came flooding back. Disney Channel was such a big part of my childhood. So, today I bring to you my top nine Disney Channel Original Series.

9. "Wizards of Waverly Place"

Alex is cynical, mischievous and always getting into trouble, but that’s what makes her interesting, especially as a young wizard. Her quirky friend, Harper, always has the most eccentric outfits and personality. All of the aforementioned and the fact that she’s constantly quarreling with her two brothers, Justin and Max, made an amazing show to watch.

8. "Hannah Montana"

I wasn’t quite sure about this show when it first aired in 2006, but it definitely grew on me. It didn’t hurt that the all of Hannah Montana’s songs were catchy and made you want to get up and dance. I couldn’t help but laugh at all the strange things her brother Jackson would do.

7. "Even Stevens"

Seeing Louis quarreling with his sister, Ren, was never short of amusing. Whether it was doing prank calls to make it seem like he was his sister’s current crush or setting up booby traps in the house with Alan, his best friend, Louis was always getting this wacky family into some sort of calamity.

6. "The Suite Life of Zach & Cody"

Zach and Cody were always doing things they weren’t supposed to be doing and driving Mr. Mosby insane. Zach’s cool guy persona mixed with Cody’s geeky personality made for an interesting mix of twins.

5. "Phil of the Future"

We were all intrigued by this futuristic show that connected Phil and his best friend, Keely, together, as many were itching to see them in a relationship. However, what kept me watching were the antics the family did so that no one found out that they were from the future.

4. "Kim Possible"

“Call me beep me if you want to reach me.” Of course a catchy phrase like this, from the theme song, couldn’t hurt the appealing nature of the show. I got to see Kim Possible, Ron Stoppable and his naked mole-rat, Rufus, fight against their rival, Doctor Drakken. This is what I call an action packed show.

3. "The Proud Family"

Penny Proud taught those watching how to be independent, stand up to bullying and have fun. She was just your average girl who fought with her parents, had her fair share of crushes and had some crazy experiences with her friends.

2. "That So Raven"

Raven Symone was one of my favorite actresses when I was younger. She was fierce, outgoing and always dragging her friends, Eddie and Chelsea, into her psychic troubles. How could you not like a show that featured the Boyz In Motion?

1. "Lizzie McGuire"

Oh, how I loved "Lizzie McGuire." I was always ready for a new episode, whether Gordo was trying to drop hints that he liked Lizzie or Kate found a way to torture Lizzie and her friends, Samantha and Gordo, for the millionth time. This show had to be my number one pick.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
