I'm all for strong independent women or positive queer representation in cinema, but sometimes, my soul just needs a cheesy, unrealistic love story about a girl meeting her prince charming. Just like a majority of teenage girls, I am a sucker for romantic movies that will leave you with a warm fuzzy in your heart. Therefore, here are my top chick flicks picks that will leave you happy, satisfied, and longing for love.

1. Just One of The Guys (1985)

The story follows Terry, a high school journalist who goes undercover as a male student at a rivaling high school to prove that her piece for a writing competition did not get chosen at her original high school due to her being female. At her new school, Terry becomes distracted from her goal due to the handsome outcast, Rick. If you aren't into old movies, "She's The Man" (2006) follows the same premise with some altering details.

2. Clueless (1995)

Cher is basically Regina George. She's rich, beautiful, and the most popular girl in high school; however, unlike Regina, although Cher is shallow, she's genuinely trying to change. In her plot to prove that she's not shallow, Cher decides to take the socially awkward, new girl Tai under her wings. However, things being to tense up when Tai falls for Cher's ex-step brother, Josh.

3. Never Been Kissed (1999)

Josie had a terrible experience in high school, but she's finally earning a place in the spotlight by being given her first undercover story as a reporter. However, there's a catch: Josie must go undercover as a high school student and infiltrate the popular group to report the sinister things teenagers participate in. All is going well, until she falls in love with her engaged English teacher, Mr. Coulson.

4. Miss Congeniality (2000)

FBI agent, Gracie Hart, is the epitome of a tomboy; she doesn't care about make-up or stilettos, only about bringing down the bad guy. Thanks to good, old, traditional movie irony, Gracie gets put into the Miss American Beauty Pageant, in order to prevent a terrorist attack from taking place. Gracie receives a magnificent "Ugly-Duckling" transformation. Through the operation, she finds friendship in her fellow pageant contestants and new-formed love from her FBI partner.

5. Legally Blonde (2001)

This movie is a classic, if you haven't watched it: what are you doing with your life? The story follows the Beverly Hills, blonde Elle Woods, who had her heart broken by her long term boyfriend, Warner Huntington III, who left her, because she wasn't "wife of a supreme court justice" material. With a scorn heart, she makes her way to Harvard Law School to prove Warner wrong and steal his heart back. However, now Warner is engaged to the preppy Vivian Kensington.

6. Shallow Hal (2001)

Hal seeks only the most beautiful women, despite his own physical shortcomings. One day, a self-help TV guru tries to help Hal by hypnotizing him to see the beauty within. Hal meets Rosemary, a kind and generous woman, who dedicates her life to humanitarian foundations. Hal is love struck by Rosemary's indescribable beauty and impossibly kind heart. While he sees Rosemary's inner beauty radiating, others can only see her morbidly obese outer figure, causing hilarious scenarios.

7. 50 First Dates 2004)

Unlike the other movies on this list, this movie follows Henry, a hawaiian playboy, who woos countless, beautiful tourists and ditches them when their vacation is over. In pure irony, Henry falls for a native girl, Lucy. Lucy is epitome of a chick flick character: she's beautiful, intelligent, caring, and laughs at all of Henry's unfunny jokes. The only catch is that Lucy has short-term memory lost and can never remember meeting Henry. What's Henry's solution? He makes Lucy falls for him again and again, for everyday Lucy wakes up with missing memory.

8. 13 Going On 30 (2004)

Jenna is like most thirteen-years old her age: wanting to grow up too fast. After being bullied by the popular girls in her school on her thirteenth birthday, Jenna wishes to be 30 and have the perfect life. Her wish comes true and time fast forwards. Jenna is the co-editor of her favorite childhood magazine, "Poise". She finally has a fabulous life and the perfect job, but something is missing: Matt. Matt was her only childhood friend, who stuck with her through thick and thin and loved her unconditionally. Seventeen years into the future, Jenna lost connection with Matt due to her over obsession with herself. Now, he's getting married to Wendy.

9. 27 Dresses (2008)

Jane was that one girl who was always a bridesmaid, but never a bride. She dedicated herself to putting others' needs above her own. The only time she ever indulge herself is when she longed over her boss, George. However, Jane's hurricane of a sister, Tess, visits town and snatches George from her. This time, Jane has had enough of making other people happy and decides to be selfish for once.

Just Go With It

Here's another story about a playboy, who is finally ready to settle down. Daniel is a top plastic surgery, who uses the story of his "abusive wife" to lure attractive women into his bedroom. One day, he meets Palmer, a kind-hearted school teacher, who although loves him, refuses to date him due to him being married. He spurted out a lie that he was going to divorce his "wife". In the attempts to keep his lies going, he convinces his single mom, office assistant to pretend to be his wife.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
