How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey fans – this movie is an absolute must. A 2003 film, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," is exactly what it sounds like, losing a potential relationship with a guy in just 10 days. The movie follows a writer, played by Kate Hudson, on a mission and the guy, Matthew McConaughey on his own mission in terms of love. Without giving too much away, you will fall in love with the chemistry between these two.

The Wedding Planner

This 2001 Rom Com will have you thinking about flowers, venues, and table settings of course! "The Wedding Planner" follows Mary Fiore, an extremely successful and trustworthy wedding planner in San Francisco. As she plans one man’s wedding, she slowly begins to fall in love with him, which is the number one rule she cannot break! So what happens in the end, does she sail away with her prince? Or does she stick to the job she was hired for? You’ll have to check this one out on a rainy day.

13 Going on 30

This film has an interesting storyline for a Rom Com. It’s about a 13 year old girl that ends up jumping forward to her 30’s because she wants to be “thirty, flirty, and thriving” instead of the dorky girl in high school. When she gets what she wants, she faces some challenges including her crush’s through the years. A must-see starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, it’s a tale of love, laughter, and growing up.

Beauty & The Briefcase

Starring a childhood favorite, Hilary Duff, Beauty & the Briefcase follows an aspiring writer, as she shoots for her dream job in New York City, writing for Cosmopolitan, a very well-known magazine amongst women that offers beauty advice, fashion advice, and gossip about the latest celebrities. When Lane Daniels is given a special assignment on love, she has no idea about the journey it will take her on.

High Strung

This one is a different setting, it follows a ballerina at a brand new ballet school. She is obviously poised and polished and she ends up meeting a guy who is not so poised and not so polished. Watch Ruby’s love story unfold as you see her push through long grueling days at the dance school, a world that most people know nothing about.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
