Top Five Worse Presidential Candidates Of 2016

Every Presidential election we are subjected to the same thing. Our country and the world is facing serious times, yet a significant number of presidential candidates are laughable at best. They parrot the opinions their pollsters tell them to in order to win the election. They have no political experience and they are driven by their own selfish ambition rather than a love for their country. Some of these candidates are worse than others, though. Here is my list of the top 10 worst candidates of 2016.

1. Donald Trump

Donald Trump is the kind of conservative who give Republicans a bad name. Trump has never held political office and has achieved his support purely through charged language, xenophobia and insults. His language is consistently inflammatory. The majority of this rhetoric expresses his anger and dissatisfaction with the direction the current and incredibly progressive president has taken the country. Trump portrays America as being a country whose core values have been stolen in recent years. However the core values he swears he is defending are anything but American. His strong belief that Muslims should not be permitted to enter the country or that immigrants who made lives for themselves should be ejected is clearly un-American. It is against everything America stands for. We are meant to be a land of freedom, and a haven for oppressed people everywhere. If Donald Trump were elected this would no longer be true.

2. Bernie Sanders

The champion of the naive and those with a persecution complex, Bernie Sanders is the nightmare of the Democratic primary. I will admit I myself am a Democrat. However, Bernie Sanders is making me rethink my party. He is truly a disgrace to Democrats everywhere. When a party gives significant support to a Democratic socialist, it is a scary time in this country. His policies take away all motivation that exists to succeed financially. Titans of industry are a necessity for every economy, but no one is going to be one unless they make large profits; people simply are not that nice. Sorry, but that is the way it is. The taxes that Sanders proposes would eradicate a significant portion of cooperative profits, and while cooperation should not control our lives they should certainly not have as much power as they do. Bernie's answer is to do away with Wall Street entirely. If we elect him as our president, we will all feel the 'bern' but not in a good way.

3. Ben Carson

For one of the most brilliant brain surgeons in the country. Ben Carson is not a political genius. In fact, brain surgery appears to be the only thing he knows about. Any man who does not know why the pyramids were built or thinks prisons turn people gay is probably not qualified to be president. Not to mention, he has no political experience. A candidate needs at least some level of experience to govern once they win. Ben Carson has never even been mayor of a small town. He is certainly not qualified to be president.

4. Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz is in many ways a watered-down Donald Trump. He appeals to the most conservative members of his party. His policies favor religious extremist at the expense of almost every minority group in the country. As a Christian person, I must admit I am ashamed people like him represent my faith and I can not imagine him representing my country.

5. Jeb Bush

While the other candidates I have listed are mainly faulted for their opinions, this is not the case with Jeb Bush. Jeb's problem, simply put, is that he is boring. Even when being bullied on stage by Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, Jeb barely raises his voice above its usual level. His opinions are moderate and logical but people will fall asleep before he is done stating them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
