The Disney College Program is a wonderful opportunity which allows college students to intern for the Walt Disney Company for a semester instead of going to school. This program allows you to work while taking classes r just work if you choose to. It is a great company to work for and a wonderful opportunity and I would recommend it to anyone. Here are the top reasons I would recommend the Disney College Program to anybody.
5. You get to meet people from all over the country and even the world
While working for Disney you will meet and work with people from all over the country and even around the world. While you are in the college program there is also an international program and you will work with people from all over. I have worked with people from Haiti, Africa, Mexico, Honduras, China, and many other countries and meeting all of them has been a great experience. Not only do you meet people from all over but they become some of your best friends, especially your roommates. I have five wonderful roommates from all around the United States who are now some of my best friends and give me a great reason to travel the country to visit them once our programs are over.
4. You will learn independence
I went to college in the same town I lived in and never really lived on my own. Being from Massachusetts and moving to Florida for my program was a big step for me. My program was the first time living on my own with people I had never met before in an area I didn't know well. I have quickly learned that being an adult is far harder than it looks but that living on your own can also be so satisfying when you are able to survive and do well for yourself.
3. You get to make magic
I work at Magic Kingdom in food and beverage and honestly one of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing the smiles on guests faces when I hand them a free churro or pretzel and create a magical moment for them. There is nothing more satisfying to say to a guest than, ' don't worry about it, this one is on the mouse." Even when we aren't handing out free food for magical moments we can still create magic for our guests just by smiling.
2. You get experience working for a big company
The Walt Disney Company is a huge company known worldwide and allows you to see how a large scale company operates on a day to day basis. as a business major this was one of the major factors that lead me to applying for the college program.
1. It looks great on a resume
Since the company is so well known and does not hire just anyone it looks amazing on a resume. Be proud if you get accepted into the program and be proud to add the Walt Disney Company to your resume.
