I’ve grown up in Chicago my entire life and still, to this day, there is always something fun and exciting to do, especially in downtown. So if you’re not familiar with Chicago, or need some adventure in your life when school lets out, here are my favorite top five places to visit if you’re in the area!
Navy Pier
There’s always something going on at Navy Pier. Whether you want to walk by the lake, or take a ride on the Ferris Wheel, it’s never a boring site! Take a ride on the speed boats if you have the chance. It can get a little pricey, but you’ll never be bored!
Lincoln Park Zoo
This is Chicago's only free zoo and it's such an amazing experience. There are so many exhibits with different kinds of animals, including some new animals that were born this month! There's all different kinds of mammals, birds, amphibians and more! Take the day off and go walk around the free zoo!
Willis Tower
If you're true to Chicago, you'll call this building by the original name: Sears Tower. The Willis Tower is the most popular building in Chicago and even if you don't get a chance to explore the inside of the building, take a picture with the sign out front. If you happen to drive by the building at night, you can see the beautiful tower lit up. Also, make sure you visit the SkyDeck. It's like you're standing in the air and you get to see Chicago from a perfect view!
Museum of Science and Industry
Science can be fun? HELL YEAH! There are so many different activities to do at the museum. Take a tour of the U-505 sub, check out the baby chicks in their incubators, or feel what it's like to be in a tornado. There's so many different exhibits and when you're in there, the day seems to fly by! Pack your own lunch and have a picnic overlooking Chicago and it'll feel like you're in paradise!
The Bean
Also known as Cloud Gate, this popular attraction is one of Chicago's most famous places. If you get the chance, take a selfie in the reflecting bean and go "inside" and take some more!
