Up too late for breakfast, but wanting pancakes or a nice eggs Benedict? Foodies always rave about brunch because you get the best of breakfast with a touch of afternoon delight. Chicago is known for its restaurant scene, so I thought it would be best to explore the city and find the best places to brunch with your beau. Being a Depaulian, I decided to stay close to home and see where I can go in between classes that won't require much effort to get to (class is a little exhausting).
In no particular order, here are the top 5 places to brunch in Lincoln Park this summer:
1. Summer House Santa Monica
This trendy restaurant is all about Cali Lovin'. With healthy options like kale lemonade and unique waffle combos, including a restaurant-favorite chicken and waffle meal, guests will never leave disappointed. Reservations are accepted and appreciated, so get your phones out. Now.
2. Toast
A DePaul favorite, toast is a small, cozy place for anyone interested in a cafe vibe. There is usually a wait, but the food is so worth it. Suggested meal: Stuffed French Toast.
3. Jam N' Honey
Right in the heart of the DePaul campus, Jam N' Honey is the perfect go-to for anyone looking to have a quality meal. Let's not forget to mention that Nutella is waiting for you at every table.
Suggested Meal: Banana and Nutella Waffle
4. Nookies
Nookies gives the diner feel a classy touch. They also offer seasonal specials that are to die for.
Suggested Meal: Paris Benedict.
5. Batter & Berries
Buffalo Chicken omelet special... How much better can it get?
Thank me later.
