Another Round Of Disney Songs

Top 5 Favorite Disney Songs (Part 2)
OneAndOnly

Starting the new year with another Top 5 of my favorite Disney songs. Why another Top 5? Because if you love Disney as much as I do, you'll know that you can't choose just 5 from a million Disney songs. Simply because almost every Disney song is your favorite. Which makes choosing a Top 5 not so simple. So there might be more Top 5 Disney Songs every month. Don't like it?

Well then Dishonor on you and your cow!

"Part of Your World"

The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite soundtracks in the Disney franchise. Even though the older I get the older I realized Ariel didn't make the best decisions, I still loved this movie and the soundtrack as a whole and this song is no exception. A song about wanting to be part of "that" world. And how badly a person would do anything to escape a world that no one understands, that's kinda a relatable topic for us girls, and people in general. It's the song that always starts Disney karaoke, and the song Disney lovers sing when wanting to leave our world behind for Disney world (or land). Heck when the opening line starts, "Look at this stuff, isn't it neat?" It starts so much conversation. Long story short, I'm grateful for this very song. Fun fact: Part of your world is one of the many songs that started a trend with Disney Princess that would sing about what they want: Examples include Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, just to name a few.

"Strangers like Me"

After my first Top 5 list, it's this song that I became obsessed with. I have so many props to Phill Collins for the Soundtrack of Tarzan for songs like "Trashin the Camp", "You'll be in my Heart," and of course this song. I'm so in love with this song, the lyrics, and the meaning of the song. You can definitely hear the passion Tarzan has with wanting to know the human world that Jane is part of. I will admit, it's been a long time since I've even SEEN Tarzan, but as always the soundtrack increases my love for the movie.

"A Dream is a Wish"

As a child, I grew up to Cinderella, and hearing this song was always my favorite part of the movie. And as I grew up I knew the true meaning of Cinderella as a person and this one very song. What I loved about Cinderella is that even when she was treated horribly by her step-family, she was still strong and kind and kept wishing for her dreams to come true. It's this line that increased my love for this song and Cinderella "No matter how your heart is grieving if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." Which is what Cinderella does during the whole movie till her wish comes true. This is also one of the many songs that define Disney as a whole and Disney's theme of wishing till your dreams come true.

"Belle"

Of course, I have to include one of the songs of my favorite Disney movie ever. This song is my favorite due to A) Beauty and the Beast, and 2) this is the only type of dialogue you need that already shows the overview of the little town, and everyone's views on Belle, which obviously that she's a strange, beautiful, odd and peculiar girl that loves to read and doesn't fit in with everyone. It's this song that I can personally relate to due to also loving to read and being different from everyone. So this song (and movie) definitely gets very close to home. And we can't talk about the song Belle without Belle Reprise. When she, like Ariel, sings about wanting a great adventure in the great wide somewhere, and for someone to understand (spoiler alert: this is before she finds someone who definitely understands).

"When you Wish Upon a Star"

Okay let's be real, this is the DEFINITION of Disney. Besides Mickey Mouse, when people think of Walt Disney, they think of this very song, which is also the opening of Disney movies. The very first thing you hear while watching Disney movies is this very song, which shows this is the TRUE THEME of Disney. It's such a simple and beautiful song that has a very simple and beautiful meaning: When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true. That line along is the theme of Disney, which is why I love the song so much. And not only that, the majority of the characters of Disney show that if you make a simple wish it can come true, and if that doesn't inspire you to work hard for your dreams and your wishes to come true, then I don't know what does. Fun fact: this is also the opening of Pinocchio, who wishes on a star that he's a real boy; again, one of the many characters that show if you wish on a star, it will come true.

Well ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, that concludes another magical Top 5 Favorite Disney Songs. As I stated before there are SO MANY more to go, because you can't just have 5 favorite songs and be done. Nope. Not Possible. So from one Mouseketeer to another, hope you all have a beautiful, magical and wonderful day, and see you real soon with another Disney article.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
