Top Four Places For Coffee In Montclair

1. Montclair Bread Company

Known for their donuts, Montclair Bread Company also has some amazing iced vanilla lattes. They even come complete with coffee ice cubes to ensure the taste is the best and purest it can be. Be sure to check out their Instagram page daily for pictures of mouthwatering donuts and the top picks of the day. The little hole in the wall shop also has a breakfast menu filled with egg sandwiches and things of the like that are just as delicious as the coffee and donuts! Another bonus is it is set on a quiet street.

2. The Fine Grind

Known for its full cup of white hot chocolate, The Fine Grind has an Instagram page that could make anyone obsessed with coffee. Just looking at the page I begin to crave changing leaves, the cool air of fall, sweaters, and my big steaming cup of hot coffee. They have an amazing long menu filled with drinks as well as having a lunch menu. Complete with a kids menu and a gluten free menu, this place is for anyone and everyone. Open until midnight on the weekends, The Fine Grind also features live music events, book signings and free seminars!

3. Red Eye Café

Another hole in the wall coffee shop located across the street from Montclair Bread is Red Eye. Known for its amazing coffee the small shop also has some great dessert complete with huge cupcakes and amazing ice cream. Which they so conveniently call their comfort menu. The café also serves lunch and breakfast. Essentially they have every coffee you could think of from an Americano, to a sludge coffee, which is a cold brewed, lightly spiced iced coffee with milk! Just thinking about the menu makes me want to stop in for a red velvet cupcake and a vanilla chai latté. One of the best aspects of the Red Eye Café is that they serve breakfast until 4 p.m., with breakfast being the best meal of the day, this is only a plus.

4. Toast

Quite possibly the most quaint, adorable, and homey restaurant that I have ever been to, Toast has the best breakfast food and the best coffee that one can ever taste. The two level restaurant is decorated to resemble a home and while a bit cramped it only adds to the charm. The staff is great and very willing to help and the restaurant has a bar. The specials always come out beyond what could be expected but my favorite is of course the French toast with strawberries, or I may have to say the red velvet pancakes. I am really not sure if I could pick a winner.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
