After spending a year at Ashland University, I find myself falling more in love with it every day. Ashland University is the best university anyone can attend. Here are my top eleven things about Ashland University.
1. The Professors
Ashland has the most caring and understanding professors. They work with students one-on-one when a student is struggling. They not only give advice on careers and studying, but they provided strategies to help us get through tough weeks like finals. The professors are knowledgable and are passionate about what they teach, and therefore the students are passionate and excited to learn.
2. Convo Kim
Anybody on campus that eats in Convo knows Convo Kim. She is one of those adults on campus that just makes your day that much brighter. She always welcomes students with a smile and wishes them to have a "blessed day" as they leave. She is one of the nicest and friendliest people on campus.
3. The Rec Center
The Ashland University Rec Center is the nicest rec center I've ever been in. On any given day, students will be working out or just having some fun with friends. My friends and I love to play Racquetball and ping pong to de-stress. Inside the Rec is Tuffy's Smoothie Bar which has some of the best smoothies and healthy snacks.
4. Athletics
Ashland has some of the best athletic teams in division two. Our football teams is ranked high in the nation. Going to sporting events is always fun. With the small class sizes you get to know a lot of athletes and going to support them in their sport is fun. What's even better is that all sporting events are free to Ashland University students.

Ashland has some awesome campus activities. To welcome back all the students this year the university threw a paint rave. CAB brings musicians, comedians, and hypnotists throughout the year. A local bowling alley provides AU students with free bowling once a month during the school year. Movies that are new to DVD are shown most weekends and when it's warm out Tech Crew will set a movie screen up on the lawn. The best campus activity is Springfest, it occurs every April and CAB brings in food trucks, obstacle courses, crafts and other fun activities.
6. Clubs
With over one hundred clubs and organizations on campus it is easy to get involved. There are clubs for each major and interest. The Rec has intramural and club sports to join.
7. The Well
The Well is a nondenominational church service for AU students that meets on Thursday nights. With contemporary worship and Mallory as the leader, The Well is Christ centered community. After service members of The Well have snacks and get to know one another. The Well has missions and immersion trips during spring and summer breaks.
8. Campus Grounds
Ashland is the most beautiful campus. Every spring there are flowers everywhere. Yellow tulips, the trees and bushes flower. Since our colors are purple and gold most of the flowers share the eagle pride.
9. Fat Bar
In convo there is a dessert bar which AU students call Fat Bar. From cookies, to cheesecake, to pies, brownies, ice cream, cakes and other unique desserts Fat Bar is the most gratifying part of convo at the end of the day.
10. A Humble President
President Dr. Carlos Campo is a humble man. He will talk to students as he walks to buildings, he will come to convo and eat with students. He goes to almost all of the sporting events. President Campo even served lunch to students in convo one Friday afternoon.
11. The Students
Ashland University has the friendliest student body. It is so easy to make new friends and talk to people in class. Ashland is a campus where you make lifelong friends.
