As October quickly comes to an end, that means one thing... Halloween is almost officially upon us. Now, I am not Halloween fanatic, but I do love hearing about all of the different haunted houses there are (even though I will never actually go to them because, well, I'm a baby). The great thing about this time of year, is that there are places all around the United States who put on haunted houses and make them absolutely amazing. So, if Halloween is your thing and more importantly, if traveling is something you love to do then go ahead and hop in your car and hit up these 10 scariest haunted houses throughout the United States:
1. 13th Floor
Located in Denver, Colorado, this haunted house is sure to give you quite the scare. As I am sure many of you know, the number 13 is a superstitious number that means bad luck, so why wouldn't you want to go and hang out on the 13th floor of a super creepy building, right? Price: $25.99 per person.
2. The Hex House
This famous haunted house is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and for a price of $20.00, you can visit this house that is based off of a true event where two girls were found to be held in occult control for seven years.
3. The 13th Gate
Located in a backwoods bayou in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, you can take a nice, terrifying walk through underground tunnels and a crematory oven for $25.00! Enjoy it for me because I will definitely not ever be going to this one!
4. Headless Horseman Hayride
Take a trip to Ulster Park, New York, and you can pay a pretty hefty price of $45.95 to experience a haunted hayride, corn maze and something brand new: The Great Room Escape Challenge! Everyone has heard of these escape room challenges, so why not try to escape from some place haunted? Talk about working under pressure!
5. Cutting Edge Haunted House
In the great part of Fort Worth, Texas, you can find this Guinness Book World Record holding haunted house! For an average price of $29.95, you can explore this abandoned meat packing plant where the old equipment now holds human remains!
6. Statesville Haunted Prison
Just 40 miles south of Chicago in Crest Hill, Illinois. If you pay $30.00, you will be lead through 23 maximum security prison cells where you can come face-to-face with ghostly inmates.
7. Bennett's Curse
Head up to Baltimore, Maryland to experience this great haunted house! And by haunted house, I actually mean four haunted houses all put together into one huge haunt fest! $35.00 dollars, and you can make your way into this group of haunted houses that are "not for the faint of heart."
8. The Darkness
Want to meet three sisters who kill everyone in sight? Head up to St. Louis, Missouri, and you can get just that! $25.00 for adults and $23.00 for children (Because, you know, who wouldn't want to take their kids right?), and you can head up there to meet these three sisters. Described as "very cruel" killers who "torture their victims." Good luck!
9. The Scream Zone
Over on the west coast in Del Mar, California, we have another set of four haunted houses all combined into one terrifying master haunted house! Pay $52.00 and receive full access to all of the houses and activities on the property.
10. Spooky World Presents Nightmare New England
Described as the "hayride from hell" this haunted house in Litchfield, New Hampshire is sure to scare you to death! A price of $39.99 gains you access onto the hayride as well access to all five attractions on the property after the haunted hayride is over.
