The holidays are all around us and while we know this is a time to celebrate family and friends, we all know that this is the ultimate time to give and receive gifts. It's always tricky trying to decide what you want to give to your family and friends, but sometimes it can be even harder trying to decide what you want. Here is a last-minute list of things that every college student should ask for this holiday season.
1. More hours in the day
To study sleep, obviously. 24 hours just isn't enough time to go to class, eat, work, party, and get a full night's worth of sleep.
2. Money
An obvious gift suggestion for anyone. Money is always needed for struggling college students, whether they need food, alcohol, or new clothes.
3. Their own Netflix account
Being in college can signify a transition into adulthood. That means it is time to stop asking everyone you know what their Netflix password is. It's time to give them their own account so they can stop messing up everyone else's movie queue!
4. Food
Everyone is quickly getting tired of living off of pizza and ramen. It's time to gift your favorite college student a nice (free) meal... preferably home cooked.
5. New sheets and towels
Laundry can be a major hassle in college - it's not anybody's first priority when they want a social life but still have to do work. By December, it's likely that sheets and towels aren't as clean as they should be (and should probably be burned), so new ones are desperately needed.
6. A summer internship
The time to apply will be here before anyone knows its. An internship is definitely the most helpful thing that you could give a college student, especially if it is paid. Nothing says resume booster like a prestigious summer internship.
7. Spotify premium
It blows my mind that some people are still listening to ads on Spotify. Now is the perfect time to give Spotify premium as a gift, especially since they can still qualify for that student discount!
8. A pet
Most students are deprived of animal interaction while they're in school. Whether they prefer dogs, cats, or maybe fish, a pet would be a great gift for your animal deprived college student and all their friends.
9. A higher GPA
By the end of the semester, everyone is wishing that maybe they didn't skip that one class or studied a little bit harder for that one quiz. They quickly realize they're not getting that 4.0 they hoped for during syllabus week and wish they tried a little harder. Upping their GPA would be the best and most appreciated gift one could receive.
10. A significant other
It can still be cuffing season in December! The cold winter nights will make even the most reckless college student want to settle down for a few weeks. They'll long for the naps and cuddles that a significant other could provide and the holidays are a perfect time to find that special someone for your college student.
