Summer is finally here for most of us, or at least almost here for some. One of the best things about summer is the new music that comes out! However, there are so many songs already in the world that are amazing, but not many listeners know about. Here is a list of some of my favorite songs that don't get enough credit.
1. "I Wanna Get Better" - Tinashe
This song is originally by the Bleachers, but Tinashe remixed it into a more upbeat song that you just want to blast in the car. This is a must on all of my playlists.
2. "Earned It" - Bootstraps
Covers of songs are almost always the best to listen to. In this song, Bootstraps striped it down into an acoustic version that makes you want to smile the whole entire time you listen to it, or at least I do!
3. "9 After Coachella" - Cashmere Cat
Obviously, I had to put in an EDM song! Cashmere Cat is a pretty popular DJ, but not many people know about this crazy song. It's filled with tons of pitches, instruments and music transitions. This song will for sure get you hyped up.
4. "Panic Cord" (Hucci Remix) - Gabrielle Aplin
Another remix...but this one is different. The lyrics in this song do speak to the person who is listening, and the remix of it just makes it that much better. I totally recommend this song to anyone.
5. "All My Friends" - Snakehips
This song features one of my favorite artists, Chance the Rapper. It's an amazing song that has a great message behind it. Listen to it to find out what that message is!
6. "Lost" - Chance the Rapper
Chance the Rapper is my all time favorite artist. This song is off of one of his first mixtapes that went viral. If you want to listen to this gem, you have to check Soundcloud first!
7. "Fall" - Ed Sheeran
There's always that song where it makes us want to sit and cry with a tub of ice cream. Well, this is that song. Ed Sheeran speaks to us through his lyrics like no other artist has ever done. This is an oldie, but also a goodie.
8. "Peaches" - In The Valley Below
It's finally the rock song you've been waiting for. It isn't classic rock, but more as acoustic rock. It's the perfect indie-rock song that makes you feel happy on the inside.
9. "Alive" - Kehlani
Lastly, one of my favorite female artists. If you haven't checked out Kehlani, you totally should, because she creates the most amazing women empowering music out there. This song is perfect for the girls who are rising up from constant messes, and want to embrace themselves!
There are so many songs out there that no one really knows about. The only way to hear about these is from checking out different artists, and don't stick to just "Today's Top Hits!" Although those are great songs, venture out and find new ones! You never know what other gems you will find besides these.
