Too good To be True

Why this logic is purely none sense

“It’s too good to be true.” It would actually astonish you how many times I said that in the past and truly meant it. I wonder if theres a word that can describe the feeling of wanting something to happen so badly and being so happy with it in the moment only to keep feeling that at any given moment your bubble is going to burst and you'll think, “I knew it was too good to be true.” I wonder if theres a word to describe the feeling you get afterwards, knowing you were right this whole time, because it’ not satisfaction. I may not be able to answer that question for you, because I don't know if there are such words for such feelings, feeling like you're always only standing on thin ice, like it’s going to break at any moment. We’ve all felt these feelings. I can assure you I’ve most likely even master these feelings, until recently.

Recently I’ve endured my very last punch (thankfully). You just can’t keep living all your life on thin ice every time you feel like you have something good in the bag. It’s like waiting for someone to rob you, knowing they are going to rob you, and doing absolutely nothing about it. I use to think uncertainty was the thief of happiness. That’s far from the truth. Not knowing is the beauty of living and experiencing life. Not knowing is the beauty of not worrying, because if it’s meant to be it will happen, no matter what. No one should be able to rob you from your happiness.

People will come and go through your lifetime, some proving they weren't worth the hassle in the first place. If you give it your all and it still doesn't work out for you, it’s not “too good to be true” it just wasn't meant to be. I know what its like to hold on to something fearing that it'll slip away from my fingertips anytime soon. In reference to the previous last punch, it took one last punch, one last worry, and one last slip away to realize my worth. Nothing is ever “too good to be true” you deserve it all.

Brand it in your mind, and repeat it to yourself in the mirror. I don’t care if your roommate catches you doing that, tell them to do it!! It will change everything. Sometimes the last punch is you wake up call to reality.

Friendships, relationships, andjob opportunities are the top three most stressful things (in no particular order) when it comes to this concept. Friends are supposed to be your support system, they're suppose to be more than happy when they see you grow. They're suppose to be even happier than you when they see you succeed (shoutout to my amazing friends, I love growing with y'all). If they’re any less, they aren't what’s best for you. Relationships are supposed to compliment you life, not complete it, especially at this age. If it’s draining you then you don't need it. Jobs are supposed to be something you're ecstatic to wake up for in the morning, if you aren’t, then you never wanted it. These three things you might feel like you have in the bag. Well it’s not halloween just yet and these are probably not the candies you are looking for. You'll have nothing in the bag with a negative mindset.

Reality is working hard for what you want. You can’t just lay around expecting it to come to you and complaining when it doesn't work out. Reality is that life is never going to come easy, but you are as strong as you make yourself out to be. Nothings is ever “too good to be true”.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
