A Letter To My Future Daughter

Dear Future Daughter,

First I want you to know I will always love you, no matter what I will always love you with all of my heart. If I could protect you from everything bad in this world I would, but I can't. I want to keep you safe and I don't ever want you to get hurt. I want to protect you from the boys, the men, the mean girls, the failure, the scrapes, everything you may ever endure. You're going to be my little girl I don't you to ever have to feel the pain and hurt I've felt in my life, but I know you're going to have to.

1. If he can't ask you out in person he's not worth it

I've learned a lot about boys by now and I'm only 17 and have lots to learn, but one major factor into finding a boyfriend is making sure he has enough bravery to ask you out in person, if you're old enough to have a boyfriend they need to be mature enough to ask you out face to face and not through a text on your cell phone because that's lame.

2. Boys will be boys

You can't change boys, there is plenty of good ones, but the same amount of bad ones. You can't help it, boys will be rude, smelly, awkward, and stupid anytime throughout middle school, I would highly suggest not dating through this period of your life because it's something you might regret, we can deal with this when the time comes.

3. You are absolutely beautiful

No matter what anyone else says, you are beautiful. Beautiful is an adjective that describes the soul of a person. You can be caring, and knowledgeable, and lovely. I will always think you are beautiful.

4. Faith is Important

Love God at all times, good and bad. He will love you and you will love him. This is the most important relationship in your life. Love God.

5. I can't wait to watch you grow.

You're not even born yet, but I can't wait for your first haircut, loose tooth, birthday, starting school, date,and prom. I can't wait to watch the amazing young woman I know you will become.

6. I can't wait to be your best friend

I'm so excited for our little shopping sprees, dance parties, late night talks, and mani pedis. I can't wait to hear about the boy you have a crush on and be there to plan your wedding. I can't wait to experience so many new things when you arrive!

I can't wait to see all that you will become and everything that will happen, but you'll just have to wait because it's going to be a few years before we meet.
