Over the years, I have developed what some may call an addiction to coffee. At times, I would consider it my lifeline. College is hard...life is hard... and even when nobody else is around, coffee has my back. To be honest, it's the main reason why I'm even surviving at this point. So here's a small list and a "thank you" to coffee for helping me do the hard things in life.

Reasons why coffee is actual #bae

1) I am an irresponsible human who goes to sleep way too late and wakes up way too early, resulting in the inability to function unless caffeine is a consistent part of my day.

2) Nothing soothes the soul of an overly emotional female quite like coffee.

3) Night class is the worst thing that has ever happened to college students and it simply is intolerable without my loyal coffee sidekick.

4) I will graciously accept the title of "basic white girl" because nothing makes my day quite like a perfectly made pumpkin spice latte.

5) Sorority recruitment took up my entire life for two months and death was a real possibility if caffeine hadn't been there to save the day.

6) Road trips make me uncontrollably tired and coffee keeps me from sleep-driving (I'm told that this is not a recommended practice?)

7) I am tired...all the time. Coffee is the blessed lie that makes me believe I am not.

8) Meeting up with friends or going on dates at restaurants sucks when you're a vegetarian and a picky eater...coffee shops save the day.

9) Perfectly foamed lattes should be considered an actual art form.

10) I can motivate myself to do the crappy things in life like study for the Praxis if I get to reward myself with coffee while I do it.

11) Teaching 26 middle schoolers at once can be a real challenge unless coffee is there to remind you that everything is going to be okay.

12) Coffee makes me happy, and sometimes you just need a little (or a lot) of happiness to start your day.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
