This is an open letter to you-- it's time you do something that makes your heart happy instead of exempting yourself from the happiness you are trying to offer everyone else.
You first of all, have such a compassionate spirit and that's appreciated but that doesn't mean you have to do every task someone asks you to do if it's taking time away from your life.
You are not called to fetch your own happiness because you've lost a hold on yours. Be so content in your own happiness that others have to search within themselves to find the bubbly, joy within who they are. You shouldn't be sucking the life out of yourself to give someone else a breath--it's not always your duty.
Remember that a person like you is truly rare. You are a precious, lovely jewel in which others wish they could steal. People know you for how you treat other people. By the friendships you endure with an uplifting attitude, you are sharing your sweet soul with others to pass along.
It's not easy being kind to people who would rather watch you look defeated but please, keep in mind that they are trying to bring you down because of their unhappiness. You've done so well on those days you just feel like pulling out of your driveway ready to cry because of how rude a customer's remarks came off to you, or how you know you upset your dad last night or even hiding your worries that some of your friends cause you.
Your life doesn't come easy and you often find yourself putting on this facade because you don't want to hinder someone else from having a good night. The thought of bringing a damper unto someone else's sunshine brings you to tears, even though you are knee deep in puddles of dirty, ragged, sinking water. You try to help everyone out by giving advice, by being sweet, by being you.
Darling, it's time you realize that some people will never get over themselves--and that's not your fault. By being you, you give the world hope that there are good people out there regardless of the blinding accidents that hold and darken others' hearts. It is time you stopped trying to be everyone's hero, and take care of yourself.
You have to love yourself for what you do, for what you bring to this earth instead of handing it out all the time. You deserve it, just take a breath and don't be afraid to say no sometimes. Allow yourself to be a people person but not a people pleaser because you are only hurting yourself.
Find a passion that you want to work towards, enjoy a new hobby and laugh at your own silly jokes that no one else thinks to be funny. Be you and let that be enough.
