To The Woman Who Is Everything

Mom, you're amazing.

You are everything that I ever could have dreamed of having as a mom. You work so hard so that I can have everything that I need and want. You have taught me so many things throughout the years and I've taken away so much from our relationship. You are truly a person that I admire and look up to. Thank you for being everything to me.

1. You have taught me to be humble, yet strong. Always pushing me to achieve my dreams and reach higher. But never forget what my knees are for.

2. You have given me the strength to keep my head up high when the circumstances are against me. Always telling me that we will find a way.

3. You are the inspiration behind my dreams. I reach for everything I want because you taught me that I could do anything I set my mind to and you always remind me to believe in my dreams.

4. You have taught me to depend on no one. Even you sometimes, and that's okay. You have helped me grow into a strong and independent woman that knows what she wants in life and is not afraid to go get it! I know we but heads over this one because neither of us are ready to let go of the other, but when the time comes you have insured that I will be fully prepared to stand on my own two feet.

5. You have showed me what it means to be honest and sometimes blunt. You say what you mean and you have taught me to do the same. Sometimes that comes back to bite us in the rear but it's okay cause I got it from you! Lol.

6. You have always been there to catch me. Even when I fall hard you are still there to catch me and help me back on my feet.

7. You have taught me to see the good in people. A valuable lesson that not many have learned, you have taught me to see the positive, the light and the good will in all people no matter their past mistakes.

8. You have taught me to face each day with a little bit of Jesus and a whole lot of coffee. You are always reminding me to turn my eyes up and look to God for help. And don't forget the coffee.

9. You approach each day with a little bit of sass. And what do you know... so do I! I of course may overload the sassy sometimes but you know just how to bring me down to tolerable levels.

10. You have showed me what it means to love people. You always have a hand out for someone in need. Doing your best to make someone's day a little brighter. You try your hardest every day for every one that you know, even if they are not your responsibility. That's part of what I love about you!

10. LAST but NOT LEAST. You are the best mommie! And I love you bunches and bunches to heaven and back again to infinity and beyond!!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
