Throughout all of my years of schooling, I must say that I was lucky enough to have all great teachers. This week, I am dedicating my weekly Odyssey article to all of those amazing teachers.
To all of my teachers; preschool through 12th grade,
You all have taught me so many things from how to write my name, to do simple math, to read a book, and so many more things beyond that. Without you, I would not be half the person I am today. In addition to the basic academic skills, you all taught me life lessons, and have inspired me in a huge way. Thanks to every single teacher I had starting in preschool all the way up through 12th grade, I am on my way to becoming a teacher myself! I was inspired by all of you in so many different ways that I wanted to pursue a career in the education field and be a teacher just like you! I want to be able to teach children the basic academic skills and life lessons just like you taught me.
Without this inspiration over the years, I am not sure where I would be or what career path I would be on. I did not think it was possible to be inspired at such a young age, but my preschool and elementary teachers showed me otherwise. Through the years, I kept getting so much inspiration that it never left my mind that I wanted to be a teacher. In preschool, I had such a wonderful teacher and experience. After preschool, I ended up with so many nice, caring, kind elementary teachers that had a huge impact on me. During my elementary school days, I would come after school to dress up and play "teacher" with my two younger sisters. Once I got in middle school, I began changing classes and got to see a variety of teachers who never once doubted me.
Finally, my high school days! In high school I got to know all of the teachers very well and create a bond with them that helped me to get through not only their class, but everyday life. I must say that one of the best bonds I created with a teacher was my 10th grade English teacher! He is the one who got me into wrestling and he was a teacher that I knew I could tell anything to. It is a year after high school, and I could tell you a story about every single one of my teachers that I ever had! Without all of your dedication, teaching, kindness, and pushing me to reach new goals, I would not be where I am now. So thank you all for inspiring me in so many ways and most importantly, thank you for inspiring me to become a teacher and want to follow in your footsteps! There are not enough words to say how lucky and grateful I was to have such amazing teachers like you. You are the reason I am studying education at UPJ!
