In college and in life, you meet a lot of people. Sometimes you become friends, but other times you are just acquaintances for a short time. Many take those temporary people for granted; as for myself, those temporary people helped me through some of the toughest times of my life without even knowing.

To the gamer girl with the friendly smile and beautiful, messy hair,

Thank you for bringing me out of my slump. I put on a fake happy face for you, but your cheeriness and kindness turned that fake happiness into real happiness. That day when I was unexplainably agitated and you noticed, you asked me what was going on. It was a simple question that no one had asked me in a while and you made me feel cared for. You are a blessing to me in ways you may not ever know, and I pray that your life is filled with love and an immense amount of joy.

To the two eccentric, coffee loving, goofy girls,

Thank you for including me in your friendship. You two are like a breath of fresh air, genuine unlike anyone I've ever met. If I hadn't sat in the back row by myself and if you two wouldn't have shown up late (like you do almost every class) we wouldn't be the weird trio in the corner like we are. I struggle with going to class sometimes because I get anxiety about going places alone, but I know you two will be there and that gives me enough push to go. I wish there were more girls like you in my life, you two are such goons it makes my heart happy. I'm truly grateful to have met two girls like you.

To the boy that has a terrible sense of humor, but has the funniest laugh,

Thank you for being you, you make me laugh a lot...sometimes to the point where my ugly laugh comes out. From you falling asleep in class and being yelled at by the professor to telling a joke that makes absolutely no sense, you give me hope that not all guys are AWFUL. You don't know that I lost myself this past year trying to be something I was not to be in someone's life who didn't need or want me in theirs. You don't know that I was treated as a convenience, I was someone who was replaceable, disposable. Thank you for treating me like I matter, thank you for walking me to my third class of the day twice a week and thank you for opening my eyes to the reality that there are good guys out there who are interested in my mind not just my body.

To the hardworking, brilliant waitress girl,

Me caes bien. Thank you for literally everything. You are sunshine on a cloudy day. You're like a unicorn, magical and one of a kind. No matter how dreadful life seems or how dreary the weather is, you are positively spirited. You brighten my day and I appreciate you for listening to my complaints and then always bringing a positive aspect into my situations. I used to be that positive girl too, I wish you could have met her, but I'm on my way back to being the Storm I was before and that is thanks to you.

There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live just a little better.

Look around you and realize who those people are.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
