It's not an anniversary, a birthday, or a romantic holiday. It's an average Thursday really that I'm writing this. It's on an average day like today that I all of a sudden want to shout out my hell of a hard working husband.
He'll probably hate me for this.
But this man NEVER STOPS. He's a real life energizer bunny who I swear will lose his mind, but he never does. And it's been this way for the almost 6 years I've known him.
He works three jobs. THREE. Most don't know that. When he's not busy with phone meeting after phone meeting, or traveling all over the country doing Lord knows what for some aircraft or network issue(I just don't understand half of it), he's shaving his face, getting a clean hair cut, putting on his uniform, and heading to the air force base for his reserve duties. Sunday night is time to relax right? Wrong. This guys managing security cameras and all of the IT work for a casino out west, and he's spending his night trying to figure out why ones down.
He's not just working either. He's EXCELLING. And when he calls me and is so excited to share how well his day went, I can't help but feel so immensely proud. And I'm so thankful he doesn't go unnoticed by those he works for. Because this guy. He deserves the moon. Let me tell ya. To do all of this and still stand out at your company is inspiring in more ways than I can count. Any praise he receives, his response? "This just humbled me."
But how does one man do all of this and have anything left to give his family? Well he's not your average man if you ask me. Because when he is home, he's the one getting our daughter out of her crib at 6:45 am and is EXCITED about it. He's the one playing airplane. Feeding her breakfast. Letting me have an extra hour of sleep because he knows it wasn't an easy night. He's the one sending me flowers out of the blue just to make sure I know I'm thought of when he's not there. He doesn't just excel with work, he excels as a husband and as a father.
I get to be home with our daughter, And it's because of him. Everything he does makes this life possible for us. He's one man, but is managing so much all at once. And on days where I'm burnt out from the one job I'm responsible for, he's not making my problems seem of any less value. He's there if I need time alone with a bubble bath, or maybe an evening shopping with my sister. He's agreeing that takeout sounds so much better than a home cooked meal, so he doesn't add any more stress on me. Some nights I can't help feel guilty because I know what he does isn't always easy, but he's made me promise up and down not to feel that way.
He's incredible. And what a huge blessing to witness this for life.
And to my dear husband, who I know will be reading this, I just want to say. You're never unnoticed. You're never taken for granted. And you're always appreciated. I hit the ultimate jackpot finding you, and being a witness to all you're capable of is nothing short of humbling. I pray some day I can amount to a fraction of all that you are. You're the real life super man. Simply incomparable. And you're so incredibly loved.
Sincerely,
Your Wife
