You showed me how to love myself, for that, thank you.

To The Guy Who Made Me Better:

First and foremost, thank you. Because of you I have realized so many different things. I've learned lessons about life, I've learned lessons about love, and I've learned lessons about myself. You shaped me into who I am today, the strong, happy, loving woman. I'm a firm believer that you meet everyone for a reason. The reason for me meeting you is that I needed someone to show me it is okay for me to be me. Even though I'm flawed and don't feel worthy at times, you showed me I'm worth more than I thought.

You've taught me a few things, one thing is that no matter what happens in life, it's best to keep pushing. When things get hard, and it's easier to quit, I cannot ever let the fear of failure keep me from doing what I love. Through all of the things I went through throughout the last few years, you were my rock. You always let me know when I was overreacting, when I was justified, and when I just needed to let things go. You kept me grounded.

Another thing you taught me is to love myself. Even when I would wake up with my hair that resembled Michael Keaton’s hair in Beetlejuice, you made me feel beautiful. When I would say something and follow it with “sorry if that sounds dumb”, you would assure me it was fine. You noticed every single way I was broken, and piece by piece, you fixed me. You made me realize I was more than just the situation I was in. I was more than the person who sought comfort in the affection I got from others. You taught me how to change that aspect of me as well. You taught me that I was so much better than other people’s perception of me and that I didn't need their affection to be worthy of something. You taught me that I was worthy of everything, regardless of anyone else.

One of the last things you taught me is that sometimes it is best not to hold onto what could have been. I constantly found myself wondering what my life would be like if certain situations were different. You taught me that because of the situations faced I was a stronger person. You showed me that I often let things bother me that I should have let go. You showed me that no matter what, if something was weighing on me, I could count on you. You were always the one who I could count on to take some of the weight off my shoulders. You showed me that no matter how much I wanted to, I could not change the past and it was best to let things be. But I knew no matter what, I had you if something was eating at me.

So thank you. Thank you for all you have done to show me how to be a stronger person. Thank you for helping me let go of negative situations. And lastly, thank you for teaching me to love myself. Loving you has helped me love me. No matter what happens you will be my rock and my safe place. For that, there are no other words besides thank you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
