One of the worst things about friendships are the fights and mistakes that come along with it. Sometimes, there are silly fights that are easy to get over, but then there are ones that are too big to even compare. It’s okay to forgive people for making genuine mistakes, but there comes a point where the mistakes start piling up. It really is up to you to decide when you need to let them go. You need to do what will make you happy.

A big part of being friends with others is that you eventually start to trust them with a lot of your secrets. When someone breaks your trust, this can be detrimental because you were vulnerable to them and they broke that promise. It's hard enough to open yourself up to others about serious things and it's okay to feel betrayed. This is when you need to decide if you can move forward with them in the future or if you need to take some time to find out who your true friends are.

Another important thing to remember when you decide to forgive someone is if they actually want to change for the better. People can say that they won't do something again, but do you believe them? If you end up deciding you want to give them another chance, make sure that they are doing everything they can to make things work. Both friendships and relationships work best when you talk things out and adapt to what each other needs.

I'm not telling you that it'll be easy when you say goodbye to a friend you've known forever because they have been hurting you too much. It's going to take awhile for you to understand that it is for the best. You have to realize that not everyone has as big of a heart as you and they won’t always be as forgiving. I know that this is hard to understand sometimes, but it shows how much strength you have. You need to focus on building yourself up and learning that you deserve only the best.

Ultimately, life is too short and you deserve friends who you don’t have to forgive a bunch of times. Maybe instead of giving other people so many chances, you should give yourself some as well. No one is perfect and that is the beauty of being human. If people can't forgive you for the mistakes you have made, then they don't deserve a second chance either.

Remember, you are worth it and you have such a big heart. People admire you for that, but they also want to see you happy. If forgiving someone is going to allow you to grow, then forgive. Life is too short to spend time hating on others. Let it go when you can, but walk away from things that will cause harm to you. I believe in you and so do many other people.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
