To The Doubted One

Everything you are doing is worth it.

This week I have been staffing a camp that is held once a year by the North Carolina Methodist Conference. One of the young men in my growth group said something very powerful to me: "You are the ultimate story. You have been doubted your whole life and you have proved people wrong every single time. Your strength to push through the doubt is amazing." He was absolutely right. I have been through a lot and have been doubted on many occasions. Therefore, I want to write this for anyone that is being doubted by people who do not believe they are capable of achieving their goals.

First and foremost, I want you to realize that the goals that you set and the dreams you want to reach for were made by you. Do not let another person or obstacle define your future or happiness. These people and obstacles do not know your mindset, your motivation, or your desires. People have no right to doubt you if they do not know why you chose your path to success and happiness.

I also want you to know that you are enough. As cliché as that sounds, I think it is important to let you know this very simple, but bold statement. People that doubt you can make you feel like anything you do is never good enough. Please keep striving for greatness, because I promise that the people who doubt you are not contributing to it. You are enough.

Finally, I want you to know that you are being noticed. Your strength, courage, and commitment will be seen by others. Some people will be cheering you on as you cross the finish line and some will be trying to slow you down. Remember, you create your life story. Do not let them keep you from turning the page.

As I am typing this at 2:50 a.m., I really hope that this letter connects with you. Please know that I am cheering for you and I do not doubt you in the slightest. Be strong, courageous, and brave. Prove the doubters wrong and come out on top.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
