I was there when you came out for recruitment and rejoiced when you became my sister. I joined in the hugs and congratulations as you received your Big. I glanced at you during meetings with comfort because I remember sitting where you are. I witnessed your growth as a new member and your initiation into our inner walls. I watched you dedicate your growth to the sorority and speak highly of all that it's given you thus far. I knew you were home. You didn't need to tell me, you showed me.

We may not share many words, but know you're my sister and I'm always here for you. We share more in common than you think.

Like you, I want you to be incredible and do amazing things for your life.

I want you to always stand tall with your chin up and your backbone in tact because life can be tough, but so are you.

I want your name to come up on executive council nominations because leadership is where you really grow and I want you to blossom.

I want you to make your Big proud and your Little even more proud.

I want you to lean on your sisters because that's what we are here for. Ask for the prayers and good vibes and know that I'll throw them your way. Always.

Similar to my experience, I want yours to be amazing and filled with wisdom so that one day, you can feel the same way about your sisters and our sorority the way I do.

This is what sisterhood is about. It's about supporting each other and our common goals. We don't have to be best friends,we're sisters who share success and drive in common. In the end, we're trying to graduate, trying to gain leadership experience and grow lifelong bonds. Suddenly, without really noticing, the chapter sister you don't spend every day with is backing you up. That's when it hits you, this family is yours and it's forever. That's sisterhood, everlasting and genuine.

Silence can be louder than words. I'll give you the warmest smile on your cloudiest day. The tightest hug on your rainiest days. I'll share dreams and achieve goals alongside you. I'll see greatness within you even when you can't seem to find it yourself. You can count on me and I can count on you.

We're in this together. We're more than just a group of women, we've chosen each other for better or worst. I'll be there to succeed with you, to comfort you, to celebrate you because you are my sister and sisterhood is forever.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
