Dear Best Friend,

Who knew that a few months after we met, we would be inseperable. I mean, it was inevitable, our names are practically one vowel away from being the exact same. You are my twin, you just get me, and I don’t know how I ever made it through without you.

Thank you. For believing in me when I didn’t even believe in myself. Thank you for helping me back up whenever I fall (Which is like, a lot) Thank you for being there for me during one of the hardest times in my life so far. Thank you for crying with me, laughing with me, and being just plain silly with me. No one else sees every side of me, but you do, and you have never judged me, not even for a second.

We’ve had our ups and downs. Our lows and our highs. Sometimes life is great to us, and we happily sing our hearts out in the car while eating our favorite ice cream. And sometimes we come home, only to open the door, look at eachother, and immediately let the tears fall. We are eachother’s safe place, and we don’t have to keep the mask on when we are around eachother. You know exactly when I’m trying to hide how I’m feeling, and you never let me shut the world out when things get hard.

You see me for exactly who I am, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. You see my flaws, my strengths, my weaknesses, and everything in between. You know my goals, my fears, my failures, and my accomplishments. You’re honest when I need the truth. You are forgiving even when I don’t deserve it. You are humble when you are right and I am wrong. You are comforting when I need it most. You are thoughtful and considerate. You are everything that this world needs and more.

I don’t know how I got so lucky, as to have you as my best friend. But I don’t think it was luck at all, I know it was God. He knew that down the road I was going to need a friend like you in my life. And looking back now, He was exactly right. I don’t know where I would be without you and without God’s guidance.

I hope you know that you are worth more than gold, and everyone who has met you is so beyond blessed. You deserve the stars and the moon, and nothing less than that. You deserve to be loved, charished, and spoiled, because that’s exactly how you treat everyone else. You are hands down one of the most amazing people on this earth, and I’m so humbled to call you my friend.

So here’s to singing Moana songs, eating candy canes, singing Christmas songs in July, eating ice cream, watching Hallmark movies, late night runs on the track, deep talks at 1 am, and adventures to Target. Wherever we end up in life, I will fondly look back at our adventures as some of my favorite college memories. You are my best friend, and I know you are going to do great incredible things in life. And I will be right there with you when you need a friend, because you have always been one for me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
