Since I was a little girl I dreamed of being a part of a fairytale. I would dance around my living room dressed as Cinderella at the ball. I built up this idea in my mind of my prince charming. A tall, dark and handsome man. A prince who would dress me up and take me around the world.
The funny thing about fairytales is that they aren't real and prince charming is not a real guy. Instead, now that I'm older, I've found something different. As Phoebe Buffay once said, "I found my lobster." I think I have found my "person."
How do I know he's my person you might ask?
1. He thinks I'm punny and he laughs at my cheesy jokes.
I mean if this isn't the best thing ever I don't know what is. He knows how to make me feel special and appreciated, even when I'm being completely ridiculous.
2. He will quote movies with me for hours.
We can literally sit on his bed, looking up at the ceiling quoting movies and talking about life and our futures all day long. I never get tired of our endless conversations about Chinese food and what our lives will be like someday.
3. He isn't afraid to be a complete weirdo with my in front of others.
We are different and other people notice that. This is because he is my very best friend and we are comfortable around each other no matter the time or the place.
4. He obsesses over Disney and Harry Potter with me.
We are nerds and he isn't afraid to show it. After our four trips to Disney in one year, I knew he was my perfect adventurer.
5. And when we haven't seen each other for a while we...
We are currently in a long distance relationship, and after almost six years of dating I can honestly say I still get butterflies every time I see him.
Just like the movie quote from "Bring It On: In It To Win It," he is a cutie pie. I don't mind showing him off.
7. He's the Chuck to my Blair.
We have had our ups and downs like Chuck and Blair, but these speed bumps are necessary in order to make a relationship grow stronger. He is passionate and spontaneous, and he makes me feel as if I am the only girl that matters in the world.
8. He loves his mommy and Jesus more than he loves me.
This is important because if he loves Jesus and his mommy well, I know he will love me well, too!
9. Also, he will be the cutest old guy ever one day!
I know he will be the little grandpa that holds my hand at the grocery store even when we're 80 years old!
10. He's my lobster!
"She's your lobster. Lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You can actually see old lobster couples walking around their tank holding claws." - "Friends"
Who needs a prince when you have a lobster?
