To My Friend Who Doesn't See Her Worth

I can't wait for the day when you finally understand how great you are.

To My Friend Who Doesn't See Her Worth
Alaina Feinberg

My dearest friend,

I wish that you could see yourself through everyone else's eyes. The light that comes from within you is so pure and full of potential if only you could step back and see that. It makes me so sad to know that you don't believe in yourself. If only I could say that I believe in you enough for the both of us -- but that doesn't work. You have to grow to see your own beauty and your own value because unfortunately, I can't make you love yourself.

But I assure you, dear friend, that I will do all that I can to help you understand who you are and what you're worth. Because God created you to be exactly who you are, and as soon as you accept that you'll set the world on fire. You've got this passion for life inside you, and I love when you let it out. You're so genuine and so bold, but you have your guard up most of the time because of invalid insecurities. You spend so much time loving everyone around you that you forget to love yourself.

You've done so much for me and the other people in your life, and I can't wait to see what you do for yourself some day. I'll never stop reminding you how amazing you are because everyone in this world deserves to be told until they believe it themselves. When you finally understand how great you are and you tap into your full potential, the world better watch out. Because you're going to hit the ground running, and you're never going to stop. I can't wait for that day. Your kind heart will be full and that will radiate into the hearts of others.

You're so loved.

P.S. I hope you feel beautiful today.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
