Don't worry you are not forgotten in this game of life.

As we grow older people come in our lives. Some friendships end by just getting out of touch and some end with a lot of tears. Fights or no fights, at one time this person slept over at you house and helped you through the hard times. This is for the friends that came and went. You're not forgotten and I don't have a voodoo doll with pineedles dedicated to your honor. At least I don't, I can't speak for the others that will share this article.

I am an appreciative person. I don't think that because a friendship ended badly that it means we were never really friends. That's just not true and in my opinion, naive.
There were times where we told each other everything and sang in your car to old Britney Spears. We talked about boys or even our boyfriends at the time and helped each other style our hair. We couldn't wait to see each other to let the other know about something that made our day or maybe even drama that happened. We were there for each other 24/7.

I have had a lot of people come in and out of my life because of my Dad being in the military. I don't believe that every friendship can last forever. I've learned the hard way that not every relationship can last, even if you want it to. I might be hurt when it happens, but I know how to move on from a friendship. You move on by acceptance. Know that you don't have to carry that anger, hate, or sadness from a lost friendship. Your time with each other has finished so new people can be brought in. Sometimes you will turn into friends that just say "hi" in passing but unfortunately, sometimes you won't speak at all.

So when thinking about friendships that have faded remember the good times. Don't turn good memories into negative ones based on how that friendship ended. A person is not their mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone commits a sin sometime or another. We choose each other to take on this game of life and your turn in my game just ended. It's hard to break the habit of a relationship, any relationship. You get so used to spending all your time with someone. So since I will always cherish every friendship I have had, this is my message for my lost friends...

I appreciate you. I'm not holding a grudge. I can sit here and honestly say I have no grudges against anyone. I face more demons than our failed friendship. You were there for a time in my life and we were closer than ever. I'm thankful for that and for you as a whole. If you need me then I am always around. You're human, not a ghost. I won't ignore you. So whenever you need me, I got you.
-Your old best friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
