Dear Best Friend,
It's so funny that we can't remember if we met each other in kindergarten or first grade. Who cares? It was a long time ago, all that matters is that we're still friends to this day. I can still remember, clear as day, the day I came over to your house for the first time. We played Barbies in your sister's room. I always thought it was funny that I had my own spot for my one specific type of mac and cheese in your freezer. And on St. Patrick's Day, I remember your mom getting green cupcakes and you thinking I was weird because I didn't want one. Pretty sure you thought I didn't want one because I didn't like cupcakes or just because they were green. In the summer I remember always spending weekends or weeks at a time with each other. I miss that so much. I miss you. It was so much fun when we played volleyball together all throughout middle school.
I'm so glad I had you as a friend throughout school. You were my little blonde best friend, you still are. You were always there for me, through stupid middle school and high school breakups and all the pointless stuff. I'm so thankful for you. I never wanted high school to end because I knew once it did, we wouldn't be at the same college and I would miss you like crazy. I never thought after high school that we wouldn't be in each other's lives that much. It's so different going to college without you when we spent all of elementary, middle school, and all of high school together. It's so weird not seeing you all the time in the hallways or in the lunch room. I always thought maybe we would go to college somewhere near each other or maybe the same college, but it just didn't work out that way.
I hope Michigan State is treating you well. I sure do miss you a lot. I can't wait to come visit you or if you come visit me. I always wanted the best for you. I have always wanted you to be happy. I hope you are happy. I can't wait to see you when we are both home over breaks. I hope you're adjusting well and that you are having fun. I hope you are liking all your classes and clubs or sorority if you are in any of those. Also I hope you and Sammy are getting along and that you guys haven't gotten sick of each other yet. You are probably wondering how I am liking college and everything. To be honest, it's great. I'm loving every minute of it. It is still not the same without you though. I think that's what I miss most. You.
Thank you for everything over the years. I love you and miss you so much.
Love,
Your Best Friend
