To My Brother On His Wedding Day

I'm so glad you found someone who deserves you and lifts you up.

To My Brother On His Wedding Day
Aubrey Clark

Well, we never thought this day would come. Alright, we knew it would, but that's the joke everyone makes at weddings. In all seriousness, if anyone deserves this special day, it's you.

A long time ago I read that in order to find the person that we're supposed to marry, it's a good start to replace their name in the Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. The verse is as follows:

"Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

What strikes me as amazing is the fact that I can put either yours or your future wife's name in for love, and it all remains true. That's not something that a lot of people can say. It is rare to find two people -- let alone one person -- who are compassionate, generous, humble, and loyal to everyone they meet.

You are light, energy, creativity, justice, and give without needing to take. She is sunshine, warmth, compassion, and empathy with no judgement. United, you two make the perfect couple. Together, you are strength, hope, laughter, and love. Together, you are better than you've ever been while apart.

To my brother's wife:

Thank you for being the amazing, Godly woman that my brother needs in his life. I can see how you inspire him. It is so comforting to be able to see the love you have for him in your eyes. I'm glad he makes you laugh. I promise he'll make you happy forever and always. He'll tease you constantly, but he only does that with people he loves. He will be brave. If you have kids and they hear a noise at night, instead of telling them it was nothing, he'll do a perimeter check to put them at ease. My brother will give everything he can to you, and will cherish every moment you have together.

To my brother:

Thank you for being an amazing example, a teacher, and a great friend. I have nothing but the utmost faith in you and what you will offer a future family. You've always taken care of me. When I was skateboarding and face-planted, you were there to pick me up. Instead of giving me a hard time, you congratulated me for trying, then told me what I could improve on next time. You made sure there was a next time. Thanks for a childhood of laughter, fun, and thinking outside of the lines without breaking the rules. I'm so excited for the future you have ahead of you with your wife.

I'm beyond honored to be a part of this special day. You both inspire and guide me, while supporting me no matter where I am. I'll always do my best to be a good sister - someone who you can always count on.

To my brother and friend on his wedding day: Congratulations.

You sought out what you wanted in life and found the most beautiful, compassionate, and empathetic soul. I wish you both nothing but the best in life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
