To my better half,
I just want to start off by saying thank you. Thank you for being the most influential woman to ever come into my life. Thank you for being selfless, understanding and the least judgmental person I have ever met. Thank you for being my biggest supporter and my cheerleader.
It all started on some cold days last winter after bid day. From the start, we clicked and I knew I wanted you as my big. It was meant to be when we first realized that we were so similar, it was a little creepy. We have the most random similarities from our moms having the same job, to undeniable loves for Reece's Puffs, Panera macaroni and cheese in bread bowls, and all the wedding shows the world has to offer.
When big-little reveal finally came, I was so nervous, but I knew you were going to become my big that night (at least that's what I was hoping). As I turned around the circle to see you holding the other half to my anchor, I almost lost it. Okay, we all know I actually lost it and became just a tad emotionally unstable, but in the best way possible. You were finally officially my big. From that day forward, you lead me through the ropes of Gamma Phi, and I couldn't be more appreciative.
A few things I want to give recognition for include: Painting me the best and biggest rock ever, not getting annoyed with me, not caring that I can be a little aggressive sometimes, always having my back no matter what I do, buying me food and letters and, most importantly, teaching me what kind of woman I want to become one day.
If I am lucky enough to become at least half of the woman you are one day, I would be very satisfied with my life. You are one of the strongest, most intelligent, driven, beautiful and successful women in my life and I truly aspire to be just like you. When we are together, talking on the phone, FaceTiming or texting, you bring out the best in me and make me want to become better than I was yesterday. Not everyone can make me feel that way. You are a very special person in my life. You are MY person.
As I wrap up this little love letter to you, always remember that you are my best friend. You have been a vital part of my life. My fondest memories of college thus far have been with you. And you're amazing.
I cannot wait to see what life has in store for us this year. All I know is that it's going to be amazing with you by my side.
