To my best friend's parents,
First of all, thank you. Thank you for raising a daughter who has been nothing but a blessing to me. Thank you for raising someone as upstanding, admirable, trustworthy and loyal as your daughter. I can truly say with confidence that she is one of the greatest people I have ever met, and I don’t know what I would do without her by my side throughout the years. Without your daughter, my life would not be near as colorful. She means so much to me, and I know she will continue to a part of my life as we move forward in our lives and grow into who we are. It is incredibly rare to find such a friendship, so I am thankful everyday, not just for her but also for the amazing people who raised her.
Thank you for essentially being a second set of parents to me. Thank you for chauffeuring and chaperoning half a million play dates when we were children and witnessing each phase we may have gone through without (too much) judgment. Throughout my life you have been so supportive of both of our hobbies and interests, and you have believed in me the same why my parents do.
Thank you for letting me tag along on so many family events and family vacations. I truly cannot thank you enough for every moment, as embarrassing as some of them may have been for me. I will forever cherish every memory for as long as I live and will forever be grateful to have experienced them.
Alongside my own parents, thank you for being an example to me as to what kind of person I want to be when I grow up. You guys do so much, and I hope when I get older I can become half as amazing as you. I truly admire all that you do.
So just let me leave by saying this: I owe a large part of who I am to my friendship with your daughter, and that wouldn’t be possible without you. So if you couldn’t tell already, I most definitely can’t thank you enough. You were a witness to my childhood, my awkward phase and my transition into a young adult, and you still manage to think I’m an okay influence for your kid. That fact in and of itself is a miracle.
With all that being said, is it okay if she comes over for a sleepover next time we are home?
See you guys soon!
Love,
Your daughter’s best friend
