This past weekend was my grandma's seventy-third birthday, we celebrated with a small chocolate fudge cake and obviously singing"Happy Birthday! " Usually our family birthday gatherings include my mom, my dad, my older sister, her fiancée, their daughter, my little brother, my boyfriend, my grandma and of course me. Unfortunately, (and at the same time very fortunately) this little get together only included my sister, brother, grandma, my mom and myself. For once this kind of calmed down our family gathering. I am grateful that my grandma has shaped herself more and more into our crazy family antics, sometimes she is the one causing the antics!

I am proud to say that my grand mother is one of my greatest role models. She has accomplished so many great things in life. I admire her greatly for her big heart for family and even her friends and acquaintances. She would take the shirt off her back for anyone, I also know for a fact that she does and always will always put others before herself and she would do everything she possibly can for people in need. I can not think of a single time that I have needed my grandma that she has not been there for me or the people in my life. I am also very lucky, my grams is definitely the coolest grandmother I have ever met!

I am grateful for her being able to attend all of the soccer and softball games I have played, all of my band and chorus concerts and drama performances, there have been several of all of those through out the years. This doesn't even include all of the other sports events and concerts my siblings have been a part of also! She is a very busy grandma!! One thing I will never be able to thank my grandma enough for is how dedicated she is to helping my sister and I fight our toughest against our illnesses, cyclic vomiting syndrome and abdominal migraines. She has been there for several doctors appointments and many, many hospital visits. She is always there to comfort me when I feel like I no one. I consider my grandma to be on of my best friends. We always like to gossip, especially about our crazy, nut job of a family we have.

I feel that people should always have the best possible relationship with their family and friends because you never know what could happen, one day they could be gone in a blink of an eye and you are going to wish you said "I love you" one more time. No matter who it is to me, if I truly love and care for someone I make sure that they know it. I hope that my grandma knows how much I love and look up to her, I hope to be just like her someday. I love you so much, grandma! I hope you had an amazing birthday!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
