It's one thing to be an only child and rely heavily on your parents, but it's another to be the only daughter. Most little girls look to their dad for guidance and direction, but I looked to mine for pretty much everything involving life. A lot of my life skills came from you, and a lot of my future decisions are going to be impacted by your teachings. You affected me and who I am today in so many ways and I admire you for more than I can explain, but I'll try.
You're an overall amazing person. You have a heart that holds so much love for so many people. Granted, you are definitely picky with who you hand out your love to, but that's actually a good thing. You taught me that if someone does not appreciate my loving heart and grateful soul, than they don't deserve to have my love at all. Sometimes I may not necessarily listen to this (because we can't always help who we fall in love with), but you have definitely showed me how to protect myself from unnecessary hurt.
You're the most hardworking person I've ever met. Since the day I entered this world, you have been working. And I don't mean working a desk job from 8-5 everyday. I mean the kind of jobs that physically drain you and damage your body. Everyday you would come home covered in dirt and sweaty and I never understood how you still managed to make time for me after working a long day. You still made the effort to spend time with your daughter even when you would rather be relaxing. Now that I am much older and I see the physically tolls your job has taken on you, I appreciate your amazing work ethic even more. You have showed me that hard work always pays off and that nothing is ever easy if it's worth achieving.
You're my biggest supporter. You've always pushed me to finish anything I started and always encouraged me to do my best. You attended every sports event, dance recital, and academic event I participated in. You would rush home after a long days work just to show up to events I was in, just to let me know that you were there for me. You taught me commitment and showed me just how a little support can make the world of a difference.
The most wonderful thing about you, is the fact that you made me who I am today. All of these amazing qualities that you possess, you have passed on to me. You have taught me how to be a better person and have also taught me some valuable lessons. You've shown me my worth in this world, you've shown me what I deserve out of life, and you showed me how to accomplish my dreams. I couldn't have asked for a better role model and a better father.
