It's Thursday night. You survived two tests and a paper, and the week is finally over. Better yet, you don't even have a class on Friday. So do you go out? Do you stay in for the night? If you are anything like me, this isn't a quick decision. It's a process that involves you changing your mind back and forth multiple times.
Stage 1: Your friends have all decided to go out, so they start to try to convince you. "It's going to be so much fun!" "Please come, don't stay in again!"
Stage 2: You had a long, hard week, so you've earned this. You think you deserve to have fun, so why not?
Stage 3: Then you panic because you remember you have nothing to wear, so you change your mind.
Stage 4: Your friend offers to let you borrow something of theirs, so you can't use that excuse anymore, and now you're back in.
Stage 5: Everyone is coordinating where to pregame and who's going to bring what, which is when you realize you have six dollars in cash and you don't really want to spend all of it in one night.
Stage 6: Your friends start getting ready, and the thought alone of putting makeup on and straightening your hair stresses you out a little.
Stage 7: You're putting it off as long as possible, but finally, you give in and start to get ready because you don't want to have FOMO. This could be the best night ever, you know?
Stage 8: You're ready to go and kind of regretting not staying in bed to watch "How to Get Away With Murder."
Stage 9: You decide to bite the bullet anyway and head out for a fun Thursday night with your squad.
Stage 10: You wake up the next morning, and as you take in your hangover, you mostly regret your decision. You still know full well that you're going to do the exact same thing again tonight.
Stage 11: Or maybe not? We'll just have to see.
