I have nothing left to say

The robots have all won

My tiny little human brain was fried out by the sun

I didn't pass their silly tests, I wasn't good enough

I took too long to fill in an answer so I'm all out of luck

As much as I fight for what I love, the budgets will not pass

Most of the older generation doesn't want it to come out of their tax

John Green, for all his flaws, finally said it best

"Even though I don't have a kid in school, I pay my taxes because I don't want to live in a country of idiots"

His point resounds through old schools, and it echoes in my chest

It's almost been another year and math and science have won

The arts are drawing More kids, though, because performing is more fun

That's not to say, however, that we don't need those subjects too

It's just to say they should be weighted the same because they'll all end up benefitting you

A little boy stole my hat, so now my head is cold

I'm facing the scary reality, that people will grow old

My hat was a gift from grandmother, given when I was three

She's since passed on and there's one less person around my Christmas tree

My best friends got mauled this year, hit by all of the bad luck

I got a spoonful myself with the taste of disastrous love

I found out that people are hurricanes, and they won't clean up their mess

I found out that just because they mean a lot, they shouldn't rent space in your head

The power I've needed and wanted to get them out is there

I just need to start moving on from the fact that they simply didn't care

It's taken me awhile to get to the point I'm at now

The point where seeing him out in public doesn't knock me to the ground

I'm helping a very good friend of mine get through the same as me

And as awful as he's been to her, she loves him more than me

She can't get him out of her brain, her heart will not let go

It doesn't matter that he was terrible, her fingers type 'hello'

2016 was a dumpster fire we'll leave blazing in the past

And someday soon we'll gather around and we'll all just simply laugh

New leaders are coming in next year with new ideas in store

I pray that we live through the rest of this year

And here's to many more

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
