This is for society.
Not just regular old society, but the society that believes there's no such thing as 'white supremacy.'
The ones who are so blind and oblivious to what is happening in front of them.
The ones who cannot comprehend what is happening on the news.
The ones who do not understand why we, the people, are so outraged of what is happening.
White supremacy is real and so is white privilege. It is not a fable like "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." It is doing more than just putting down African Americans. It is when everyone who is not of Caucasian origin or has European blood flowing through their veins is being belittled. White supremacy is getting treated better due to having a pale complexion. White supremacy is having certain White Americans believing they can do and say whatever they want without consequences.
What it really is is ignorance. It is the reason why certain White Americans are taught to be completely ignorant when it comes to culture, race and facts.
White supremacy is also the reason why some do not know the difference between culture and race. It is also the reason why some people believe that America was owned by whites and not the Native Americans.
The reason why white supremacy is not considered a worrisome issue is due to it being publicized and normalized by media for decades. It is shown through television; where shows have an all white cast or "important" roles being fulfilled by white people. Even today, the media's idea of having a diverse cast means having one or two characters of color.
We have to stop this and make the change ourselves. We have to stop the hate and discrimination. We have to fight back.
This does not mean killing off cops or discriminating against white people. This will not prove the point we are trying to make.
We have to do it through education, patience and vigilance.
Police officers have to follow the laws just like everyone else. It is their job to protect us. But, for them to act unjust is unacceptable. Yes, not ALL cops are bad. But for a cop to let a fellow cop do ignorant and inhumane procedures, that is what makes them bad. For a cop to not stand for the injustice and let it slide makes them bad.
Cops should not kill innocent individuals, just like how individuals should not kill innocent cops. It is always innocent people getting killed off for no reason.
To those who want to attack #BlackLivesMatter with #AllLivesMatter, you are ridiculous. Yes, all lives matter, but right now we are focused on black lives. Blacks are getting killed off due to false accusations and police brutality.
How come whenever a black individual is murdered and is put on the news, they always bring up their police background, time they have spent in jail or past in general? But when a white individual does something bad, their accomplishments are brought up as if to justify that it was "a mistake"?
Why did Brock Turner and Dylann Roof receive special care after unspeakable actions, but Sandra Bland gets assaulted and dragged when she is pulled over for a minor traffic violation?
Why are black individuals who are convicted always spoken of like they are "dangerous, violent thugs" who came from a broken family in the ghetto? But when white individuals are convicted, they are automatically labeled "mentally ill"?
We need to stop saying "not all cops..." or "not all white people..." because when it comes to black people, Muslims and Hispanics, they are all apparently the same.
We have to address these issues. We have to put an end to all this madness. We need to make change.
Know your rights. Stay calm and do not argue, especially dealing with ignorant police officers who think they are above the law. You have the right to remain silent. Do not fight back or else it will cost something. Be smart when it comes to arrogance.
I am tired of seeing videos that bystanders filmed on social media and on the news. I am tired of the hate. I am tired of hearing people slandering minorities with stereotypes.
Terrorists are not Muslims or people who live in "Muslim countries." Terrorists are those who want to achieve some type of political goal through the use of violation and destruction.
Muslims and those from the Middle East do not equal ISIS. That is like saying all Christians equal the KKK (yes, the Klu Klax Klan claim to be Christians).
Black people are not their stereotypes, neither are Muslims or Hispanics. None of us are our stereotypes. We need to have a growth mindset.
I want to see change in our communities and families. Mindsets need to change and understand this needs to stop. All this violence and hatred needs to end.
Yes, racism will never end; I know that. But, we need to teach our kids and ourselves that we are all equal. We are all the same. No matter how a black child acts, some other Asian child or Hispanic child or white child will act in a similar manner somewhere.
We need to educate ourselves and stand up for those who cannot defend themselves.
I may not be black or Hispanic, but I stand by those who are. In any way, I will be there to support innocent lives that were ended for no good reason. I stand by those whose lives were cut so short due to racial injustice.
I am tired of refreshing my Twitter/Facebook timeline to read something so horrifying and terrible. It leaves me heartbroken.
Know that you are valued to someone. You are loved and respected by someone.
You, you dark-skinned or brown-skinned or light-skinned individual, you are all so beautiful. Regardless of how coarse or fine your hair is, you are still so beautiful. Whether you have blue eyes or not, you are oh so beautiful. The color of your skin does not define how successful you will be.
Be proud in your skin.
Be proud of who you are. Media can only make up so many excuses to justify what is going on. Do not belittle yourself due to what you see on the news or in TV shows.
