Thanksgiving is not only the start of the holiday season but it is also a weekend full of football, leftovers, shopping and a little bit of credit card debt. Usually people want to talk about stuff that they want to do for the holidays, but in this case I'm gonna talk about the things you shouldn't do this holiday season.
1. Don't go to a highly populated area.
OK let me first start off by saying that I was a little iffy about this one but honestly it makes sense, due to what's going on in the world today. With the horrible acts that happened on November 13 in Paris and the war on terror at its all time high, it's possible that ISIS may plan an attack on the U.S at any possible time. People tend to stay home on Thanksgiving but traditional values have been replaced with retail and strategic marketing campaigns, which kind of ruin the meaning of Thanksgiving. So this year let's stick with tradition.
2. Don't do the usual Black Friday routine.
OK let's be honest, Black Friday is the most overrated holiday ever made. It's a complete marketing stunt that fools shoppers into buying products that they think is at the lowest price possible. The way it works is that large store chains like Walmart and target put their prices at a low range from retail for about four months and then on the third month they put it back to retail and then the following month, for Black Friday they put it at the same price as four months ago but this time they mass advertise the price giving it the illusion of it being an unbeatable price. But the best supplement for Black Friday is just three more days after.
3. Cyber Monday!
This is the perfect replacement for Black Friday. It is actually not an advertising stunt and it saves you money! As the Holiday season comes approaching you need to start buying gifts for the ones you love without spending over your budget. You don't have to deal with those big crowds or go through waiting in lines for hours just to buy that T.V. Just wait till 12:01 am on Monday.
So these are my three things to do/not to do on Black Friday. You can choose not to do them if you want but personally this is what I would do.
Have a safe holiday season.
